About Balam Coffee & Wine

Balam Coffee & Wine is a charming mom & pop cafe that feels like a cute spot inspired by Yucatec Mayan traditions. The name comes from Balam the protective super natural jaguar guardian of Mayan fields. The space is warm, earthy, cozy and thoughtfully designed, with stunning elegant decor that is gorgeous, fantastic and calm even on a busy street. The atmosphere is quiet, chill and perfect for study, with comfortable booths and chairs and salsa music that can be blocked out with headphones. The staff and two workers are nice, the barista points out favorites and the whole team is welcoming. The menu is creative and Latin American‑inspired, offering drinks that are not the usual copy‑and‑paste coffee shop lineup. Highlights include the Flan latte, the banana latte, the Mexican wedding cookie latte, the churro latte, the mazapan latte with banana, and even a tortilla cold brew that tastes like tortilla chips. All the lattes are delicious, exquisite, sweet in a perfect way and not too sweet. The overall vibe is 10/10, supportive of local businesses and community, and everyone and their mom should go try it.
