If I had guests who wanted to eat one variety of the Detroit Style pizza family, this is where I'd go.The interior is classic 1950s Italian restaurant - red carpet, wax covered Chianti bottles hung on the wall.Warning: I've eaten at home for a while, and I assume waiting lines still exist.Loui's even offered car pick-up during the pandemic.The bads: can be difficult to find, use your hands free phone! This is the best of the Detroit style pizza locations. And while the pizza is obviously amazing, don't sleep on the Louis Special sandwich: shaved beef, barbecue sauce and cheese on Texas toast. So good!Parking: It's a tight parking lot without an intuitive flow to it. What a cool place. This is a historic pizzeria in Hazel Park that everyone should check out. Their pizza is legit Detroit style and it's very good. All around the dining area are hundreds of chianti bottles with baskets that patrons decorate before being put up. It's actually a fantastic DOCG Italian chianti well worth ordering!Pro tip: If you like a lot of pepperoni, ask for extra! They don't put a ton on by default.
