“This was the best restaurant I’ve been to in a LONG time. I’ve never had better pancakes, and bacon and coffee. My mom had a country omelet and could NOT stop talking about how amazing it was and she went into detail about how they used ground sausage in the gravy instead of sausage links. She was all over the food and so was I. Best breakfast and lunch place in the area. I would highly recommend it to anyone, the servers are extremely sweet and friendly, the food comes quick, and everyone is willing to answer a question you might have. Extremely good service. I would come back here a million times again, their prices are extremely good and for the price, the food is wayyyy too good. 5 stars all the way because I can’t do 6.”

“We just had Salisbury Steak special and everything was fantastic! Very friendly and welcoming service, comfortable booths in a cozy atmosphere topped off by the best home cooking. We will happily make the 25 minute drive here over and over again.”

“Our family arrived 2 minutes before the buffet was ending, but they still accommodated our large group. Our waitress was extremely kind and attentive. Buffet was very clean and fresh! Would definitely recommend.”

“I would recommend this restaurant any day of the week except for Monday and Tuesday evenings. I was in there tonight around 7:30 getting dinner with my grandson. it was 7:48. there was a car pull in to do the same thing. it would have been a table of 5 or 6 people coming in but one of the waitresses there took matters into her own hands walked over shut the open sign off then proceeded to walk out the side doors close to the funeral home and tell the costumers that they were closed. I don't see how this is far to not only the costumers or the restaurant owners. it is not the first time I have seen this done in Monday or Tuesday. I myself have witnessed it many others times turning customers away.”

“Quaint restaurant in an old log cabin. Used to be Joe's Coney Island. Since it changed to Rex's, it has cute little dinosaur themed signs on the walls. Great food, with daily specials. They do charge extra, for using a credit card.”

“The Nottingham is a landmark for Houghton Lake. We live this place. Pam the bartender is the best. She made us feel so welcome and we had the best time. We have been here several times snd all the bartenders have been great but Pam is the best!”

“I grew up in the house next door ( now a used car lot) in the 50’s and early 60’s. I took my wife up there to show her where I grew up and was happy to see the Spikehorn was still there. We stopped in had lunch it was very busy so we ate at the bar. Service was great bartender was friendly and efficient. Food was good . No complaints. I will be going back whenever we are back to Houghton Lake.”

“We are visiting from Ohio. The custard here is hood. The gentleman at the window was sweet and informative. Once we pulled in it was suddenly really busy so I am glad the crowd came. I got the twist dipped in chocolate and it was devine.

“11 of us for a mid afternoon meal. The waitress, Stacie, was awesome! Personable and efficient! Best mushrooms I’ve ever had! The fried mushrooms are Bella mushrooms and they were amazing! Made fresh in house! Chicken Caesar salad was good, hamburgers were good, Rubens were good! Drinks were good! We will definitely come here again! 😍”

“VERY PLEASNTLY SUPRISED! I can't comment on the Buffet because we only ordered "Take-Out. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken and the Mongolian Beef. The Beef and Chicken were tender and flavorful. We like it Spicey so next time we will order it that way and trust me there will be a next time. Very ample sized portions for the price. n”
