“I would recommend this restaurant any day of the week except for Monday and Tuesday evenings. I was in there tonight around 7:30 getting dinner with my grandson. it was 7:48. there was a car pull in to do the same thing. it would have been a table of 5 or 6 people coming in but one of the waitresses there took matters into her own hands walked over shut the open sign off then proceeded to walk out the side doors close to the funeral home and tell the costumers that they were closed. I don't see how this is far to not only the costumers or the restaurant owners. it is not the first time I have seen this done in Monday or Tuesday. I myself have witnessed it many others times turning customers away.”

“Our family arrived 2 minutes before the buffet was ending, but they still accommodated our large group. Our waitress was extremely kind and attentive. Buffet was very clean and fresh! Would definitely recommend.”

“We just had Salisbury Steak special and everything was fantastic! Very friendly and welcoming service, comfortable booths in a cozy atmosphere topped off by the best home cooking. We will happily make the 25 minute drive here over and over again.”

I’ve eaten there quite a few times since the new owner took over. Joe ran a good ship. This Gal has actually stepped up what was a good place to eat to even better. The Catfish is great. Had Breakfast there several times too.
The new Owner & Staff are fantastic outstanding service every time I’ve been there.
Very fair priced - good portion’s
And add to that the New Owner has added her touch to the Outside of the building and like her - A Class Act.”

“I grew up in the house next door ( now a used car lot) in the 50’s and early 60’s. I took my wife up there to show her where I grew up and was happy to see the Spikehorn was still there. We stopped in had lunch it was very busy so we ate at the bar. Service was great bartender was friendly and efficient. Food was good . No complaints. I will be going back whenever we are back to Houghton Lake.”

The triple Chocolate cheesecake, rhubarb thumbprint cookie, red velvet collision, cinnamon rolls and the chocolate rum frosted cupcakes, and of course the caramel pecan crunch rolled ice cream! The owner is an absolute Gem! we will be back every year on our annual trip to Higgins Lake.”

“Love this place and the workers are great. I ordered online on my way home but got held up at work. I showed up late to pick up my order about 20 mins before closing and was still in my Army uniform. The staff was very friendly and gave me my pizza for free.”

“VERY PLEASNTLY SUPRISED! I can't comment on the Buffet because we only ordered "Take-Out. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken and the Mongolian Beef. The Beef and Chicken were tender and flavorful. We like it Spicey so next time we will order it that way and trust me there will be a next time. Very ample sized portions for the price. n”
