I’ve eaten there quite a few times since the new owner took over. Joe ran a good ship. This Gal has actually stepped up what was a good place to eat to even better. The Catfish is great. Had Breakfast there several times too.
The new Owner & Staff are fantastic outstanding service every time I’ve been there.
Very fair priced - good portion’s
And add to that the New Owner has added her touch to the Outside of the building and like her - A Class Act.“

“Great food and a great atmosphere. Kid friendly with a play area for them to use while we waited for food. Large menu with many options and the staff was really friendly.“

“I would recommend this restaurant any day of the week except for Monday and Tuesday evenings. I was in there tonight around 7:30 getting dinner with my grandson. it was 7:48. there was a car pull in to do the same thing. it would have been a table of 5 or 6 people coming in but one of the waitresses there took matters into her own hands walked over shut the open sign off then proceeded to walk out the side doors close to the funeral home and tell the costumers that they were closed. I don't see how this is far to not only the costumers or the restaurant owners. it is not the first time I have seen this done in Monday or Tuesday. I myself have witnessed it many others times turning customers away.“

“I grew up in the house next door ( now a used car lot) in the 50’s and early 60’s. I took my wife up there to show her where I grew up and was happy to see the Spikehorn was still there. We stopped in had lunch it was very busy so we ate at the bar. Service was great bartender was friendly and efficient. Food was good . No complaints. I will be going back whenever we are back to Houghton Lake.“

“We stopped by last night to check out the Limberlost. We had read some bad reviews. Wanted to see for ourselves. We found that we enjoyed the place. Cassie our bartender was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was enjoyable. We had a shrimp appetizer. It was good. Then we ordered a filet mignon. Nevaeh cooked it to perfection. She even put our last few pieces back on the grill to heat them up. We would definitely go back.“
