“I spent five years of my life in this bar- hundreds of lunches, dinners, thousands of drinks. My employer starting asking if my paychecks should just be made out to the Blue Dog. Run by a savvy family and populated by a mix of largely agreeable clientele. Whether you need a classy yet informal setting for a business lunch, or would prefer to have a few shots and wake up with crumbled tots and little dried dashes of green onion in your hair, you've found the perfect place.“

“We always have a fantastic time when we show up for supper. The beer is cold and no matter what food you order, it's always good. The entertainment is spot on, and no matter if know the people around you are friends before you go home.“

“Extremely great value and an amazing place to play pool.
- Coma to Die For: Colossal! You cannot fit this thing in your mouth. I have ordered many large burgers, but this one did not squish down much to fit. It was dense. I had to eat it by biting above and below. That said, it held together until the end (barely).
The burger was a medium quality beef weighing one pound. I ordered it medium and it was a little closer to the medium well end and thus a little drier.
Toppings were well balanced except the onions were a little too much, the bacon and cheese was actually a little on the lighter side (mainly because the the massive amount of beef). I’m nit-picking, though. It was still all around magnificent.
And it is a great bang for your buck! For as much as you get for $14, almost no one is going home hungry! I dare say most will be taking a box of leftovers home.
I ordered mine with ketchup, mayo, onion, tomato, and lettuce.
- Fries: Great battered fries with a wonderful blend of seasoning and a small hint of spice. Great crispy outside with a fluffy inside. Just a little too salty, though.
- Water: I usually don’t say much (and this is totally minor), but the straw was not tall enough for the glass. I usually don’t use a straw anyway. Minor detail.
- Service: A helpful waitress that was very social and helpful. The meal was served rather quickly and I was checked on often. I was never waiting more than a minute for attention and help.
- Atmosphere: Cozy and friendly. You get the sense that people from every aspect of life come. You had families, close friend groups, serious pool sharks practicing, and the average Joe (like me) just having fun.
This place has been around a while and I can see why. The tables are kept up well and there are a ton of them. There is still plenty of room to socialize and enjoy the evening.
The biggest concern is parking. The front parking is very tight. Leaving is an issue as you have to go to the back parking lot to turn around, but there is plenty of parking and space in the very back where a dirt parking lot is.
I’ve been wanting to get here for a while and I was not disappointed. I wouldn’t mind coming back here for sure.
Visited on a Wednesday at 4:30 PM.

“Reservations were made for here for an after graduation party. It was a great choice. Allie did a fantastic job of taking care of our party of 12; thank you. The appetizers were very good. We had a sampling of almost everything. The burgers, dill pickle chicken sandwich excellent. I am told the grilled cheese was the best in the state. Definitely a place we will return to.“

“Overall impressed. Ordered appetizers of wings and cheese sticks which were delicious. The steak was medium-rare, I ordered medium-well. It was still delicious, though, so no complaints.
Not a huge fan of steak fries but they’re good enough to satisfy“

“I rarely leave reviews, but our service that last two visits deserve it! Our kids love the free popcorn and card games. We love the food and drinks, and June is the best bartender and waitress! She reminded us what real hospitality feels like, remembers us and our orders from previous visits, and made real connections with our teens. We'll definitely be back on nights when she's working!“

“Excellent experience at Alebird! Our bartender Bri was amazing. Very personable and friendly. Other staff was great too. Beer was very good and craft cocktails were great too. Highly recommend the Michigan Mule. They do also have a full bar and domestic beers for those who don’t enjoy craft beers“
“The price of the drinks is very reasonable. The bar tenders are always friendly. They recently got a card machine so you don't have to bring a wad of cash with you. It's always a good hangout if you want to play pool or shuffleboard.“

“The burgers did not disappoint. I had read so much about the stuffed tots, but for me they were so so, probably won't order them again. A huge shout out to our server, Bailey, who made our experience so enjoyable. She showed up at all the right times to refill drinks, (and made sure they were just right),bring our food and check in with us. She put our experience over the top. Thank you, Bailey!“

“Restaurant Week 2025, day 1!
First stop - Sundance Grill and Bar, 7:30 in the morning on a Friday? Hell yes!
Chef Coach made an awesome salad with strawberriws and raspberry vinaigrette, and an amazing chicken and rice stuffed bell pepper dish. I'm not a culinary expert, so I couldn't tell you it was a flame-roasted bell pepper with marinated grilled chicken, tomato, cilantro-lime rice, and roasted red pepper crema...but I can tell you it was delicious and totally worth it!
I didn't think to get a before picture, but I'm attaching the leftovers. The peppers were stuffed, and so are we!
Well done, Chef and team!“

“Walking down the promenade at the Bar, feeling hungry, she stopped by a small pizza restaurant. The place is cozy: two floors, a street terrace and even a small hotel attached to it. I chose an outdoor table - it's nice on the terrace: the sun doesn't bake, there's a slight breeze and a great view of the waterfront. Menu - European cuisine, prices average. The waiter was found friendly, the service was warm and unobtrusive. I ordered pepperoni pizza and beer. Cooked for about 20 minutes. The pizza is classic, Italian style: thin dough, good roast, rich taste. Just what you need after a walk by the sea. The place left a nice impression. No pathos, but with atmosphere - I had a great time here.“

“Always good service and prices are decent. My only knock is that they’re the only place in Jenison with a hometown bar style atmosphere and menu, and they kinda know it. I asked for mayo on my sandwich and got a packet of mayo given to me. Maybe that’s a little nit picky but if I asked for a sandwich with mayo on it from the McDonalds next door they’d actually put mayo on my sandwich and then give it to me. They put in a ton of effort when it comes to service. But there’s no mozz sticks on the appetizer menu. Idk seems like low hanging fruit to me. I’m half joking but I do feel like they lean back on being the only game in town sometimes. Can’t blame them till someone decides to create some competition.“
