“If you get the opportunity to be served by Logan and Jade downstairs, do not miss it under any circumstance. I haven’t been to downtown in a long time (I’m a country hick), and these two treated my group like we were the only people in the restaurant. As far as those two were concerned, we were royalty. While they were “just doing their jobs,” they were amazing. If the rest of the staff is half as good as these two, do not hesitate to stop in. We could not have dreamed of better service. I just hope we tipped enough for how they treated us.“

“Honestly...my experience here had nothing 2 do with food... shooting pool which is fun...but I had the pleasure of meeting the owner & got a complete rundown on him & the story behind Lamplighter...such an awesome guy...stop by & offer 2 help him finish his dream of finishing the Lamplighter... he's also 80...has a tendency 2 fall..but keep on working on the Lamplighter ??...I had the pleasure of helping him & learning the history behind the Lamplighter from the beginning 2 now...????“

“First time at Dave's bar. stopped in after driving by several times and seeing the sign. Christina the bartender was nice to chat with. Dave was welcoming. The bar was clean with a nice vibe for young and old. Love this place. Bought some wings to go. The best wings I've had in Michigan and in the top of wings I've had in the numerous states I've lived and visited. Dave explained how they smoke the wings, etc. A great place to relax, eat, or enjoy an adult beverage. Will be back.“

To be honest, I’ve gone there a handful of times in the last 10 years and the staff hasn’t been the friendliest or most attentive. Other patrons aren’t super friendly either, which is why I usually order take out. Drinks are average prices. Overall, the food makes it worth the take out order. Get the olive burger and mushrooms!“

“I spawned in at the front door fractionally after a young lady set a sign out on the sidewalk advertisingthe place. It startled her and left me befuddled. Since I was here, I ordered a NA beer and a couple of mix drinks. It was record album and trivia night. I sat with a group of strangers that provided good conversation. The DJ (Dave?) ran some rounds of music trivia and interacted with patrons. The staff is great and friendly mixing up some tasty drinks.

“We came in after reading a review in a tourist magazine and were so happy that we did! Amazing vegetarian Apple squash burger (So delish!) and the “Beast” burger, Harvest salad, chili and cornbread, thick hand cut onion rings and brownie Sundae. Beer and cider don’t disappoint - I loved the cherry cider they made and my husband enjoyed the beer. Accommodating kitchen, staff and owners, we really enjoyed and will be back. Check them out“
