Great national Forest campground right on lake Superior and also has the historic Bay Furnace as well. Before heading up it's a good idea to check to see if there is available sites as most are recrvable with only about 5 first come first serve sites. The whole campground has been updated recently and the pit toilets were very clean. My only complaint is the campers that have a hard time understanding what rustic means and running their generators excessively throughout the...
Sites are nestled in beautiful Hiawatha Forest. Shade trees and proximity to lake make the nights nice and cool even in July. Campground hosts were friendly and helpful. Newly paved roads in campground are perfect for evening stroll or bike ride into town of Christmas! Good dump station as well.

Vault toilets were clean, wish they had Purex.
Bugs were horrendous but respected bug spray. Staff were amazing. So friendly, I felt welcome.
