“Absolutely the best in town“

“Ordered fried shrimp rice meal. The Lentil soup was watered down not as good as in the past.
I used to visit there for dine in on a regular basin however since covid my visits are infrequent.
Fast carry out service. Resturant was emptied of dine in patrons. I was curious why. It used to be busy with wait line.
The quality of my food was ok except the shrimps were very greasy.
The garlic was still very good.“

“This was our favorite Mediterranean restaurant before they moved to the grocery store. The staff are always so friendly and we continue to choose them over all other restaurants in the area. My go to is the Mediterranean chicken stir fry with rice! Try it, you won’t be disappointed:)“

“Two nights ago , my wife and I dined at Al Shallal, a Lebanese family owned and operated restaurant. We were warmly greeted by hostess/server Nourhan and offered menus. My wife ordered an absolutely delicious falafel plate that was accompanied by a marvelous tahini sauce and rice. I chose the perfectly spiced and prepared mixed grill (beef kabob, chicken tawook and beef kafta served with a pungent garlic sauce and rice. Our order included, as a prelude, a choice of salad or soup. We opted for the homemade (all items we ordered were made from scratch) chicken lemon soup: shredded chicken, and rice in a deeply flavorful lemony chicken broth (yum). Our servings were generously portioned and absolutely scrumptious. Following the meal, we ordered homemade, once again, baklava and a small pot of a cardamom infused Lebanese coffee. Food heaven. Nourhan was an absolutely wonderful server (daughter of the owners who were the chefs). We have dined at many Lebanese, Iraqi and Iranian restaurants. Al Shallal, in Dearborn Heights , Michigan ranks at the very top for quality, price, taste, presentation, authenticity and service. Thank you Nourhan and family.“

“First time went for Iftar with the family and amazingly everything was on point mashallah. We heard mix reviews from our friends and family but honestly we didn't taste anything better than this place in michigan. For the buffet they had various options to choose from and the price was really affordable. We tried the best zilabi on town. My picky eater son finished everything which means it's really good. “The atmosphere is really nice! I came in with a group of 15 and the server we had was super friendly and accommodating. The food came out quickly as well. I had the broccoli soup and fries for an appetizer and both were amazing!! They have a delicious sauce that comes with the fries as well. For dinner our group purchased a platter and even for 15 of us it was ALOT of food and we had so many leftovers. At the end, the servers were so kind and patient and took photos of our group.“

“Golden Subs is a small, humble spot. The chef serves up some of the tastiest food I’ve had in a long time. It instantly brought back memories of the little “snack” shops we used to visit in the village back in Lebanon.

The lunch specials don't cost much more than a fast food combination meal. The staff is courteous and friendly. “Fantastic manaeesh. We ordered half zaatar/half cheese, sojouk and cheese, spinach and cheese, meat, and keshk, all extra toasted, and they did not disappoint. The manaeesh were a great size (we ordered all regular), topped very generously, and ready quickly.

We also got two cups of tea with the order, and the total came out to $30, which is surprisingly affordable for the quality, size, and topping generosity (especially compared to what Houston offers).

The sojouk tasted exactly like the ones in Lebanon. The spinach was fresh, which made a huge difference. The zaatar tasted authentic, and the cheese was actually good (not plasticky). The meat mixture was very moist with no gamey smell, and the keshk wasn’t dry at all. Overall, everything tasted fresh, well made, and truly authentic. As a very picky eater (especially when it comes to Lebanese food as I’ve has the real deal plenty of times) highly recommend.“

“In Detroit for 2 nights and was looking for a spot to eat around my hotel - luckily I found Bucharest through Google Maps. The food was really good - I got the salad with chicken shawarma - the portion was insane! I didn’t take a picture but there was so much chicken (and I got the “small” size) It was really tasty and juicy and with the side of garlic sauce it really hit my cravings. The bartender (I sat at the bar) was super nice, friendly and awesome yet respectful and in general everyone out here seemed really welcoming. Prices were very fair and affordable (got 2 drinks as well)
Overall a very good and tasty experience and I’ll definitely come back here on my next visit to Detroit. Keep up the good work!“

“I orderes through DoorDash and figured I'd give them a shot. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich, small tabouleh, and medium fries as they didnt have an option for small through DoorDash. I dont know if something got lost in translation or if its genuinely like this everytime, but the tabouleh and fries I got would be large or extra large at most other places. The tabouleh was the best ive had from outside the home. The fries are fantastic, and the chicken shawarma came LOADED.“
