“This is one of the better college dining halls. There has been a change in the chef over the last couple years, and for me it has been a negative. The former chef was more conscious of food preferences, and prepared dishes that not only meet some of those needs but also did so with a great level of care. Now, some of the vegetarian dishes are token canned veggies dressed up a bit. Don't get me wrong; I'm appreciative, but it's not the same. There was a curried veggie dish that was good, which was encouraging.The selection is usually varied, and you can rely on some standbys as well. The service is great, and the cleanliness is wonderful.”

“It doesn’t get much more small-town than this. Breakfast was incredible. Coffee was great and the atmosphere is straight out of a movie. Customers are on a first name basis and Sunday mornings are a weekly reunion. It is gems like this that make it worth driving a little extra off the highway for a meal.”

Had a side of biscuits and gravy....gravy while homemade had an odd flavor to it for me.....maybe too much sage. Anyhow. I will most likely be back to support the place and try some different menu items.”

“I'm not a burger loving person. Never have been and thought I never would be... until a couple days ago, when I took my 9 year old to The Eaton Place in Charlotte to reward her for a job well done. The staff sent us through an adjoining door to the Eaton Pub & Grille, since they were closing.My kid was in the mood for a burger and was told by that staff member to try the Bacon Jam Burger "split, because it's definitely enough to feed the both of ya". When he said "it has bacon jam and garlic aioli," I was sold. I LOVE to try new things and push myself out of my comfort zone. HOLY MAN, my life was CHANGED by this burger. My kid even audibly gasped and said wide-eyed, "this is sooooooo good!!"It's a combination of sweet with smoky spice, and all the right flavors meshed together. I don't think I can EVER look at another burger the same. “This place was gorgeous. But make sure your driver is working for you because if not it can be a long day. Lots of elevation. Rolling fairways. It’s longer than many courses I usually play. Lots of mid to long irons in for me from the middle tees. But also 5 tees to shorten or lengthen the hole. The greens are really big so you can get on but also can have very long putts on greens with plenty of pitch. Lots of bunker guarded greens as well as plenty of fairway bunkers in typical landing zones. Some stunning par 3s. Just an all around great course. For the money, you really can’t beat it. I’ve played courses that cost 3 times as much that weren’t as nice. Definitely recommend!”
