“Sitting outside on a warm summer evening was the perfect way to celebrate my MIL’s 70th bday. Drinks, apps, and meals were all excellent, as was the service. It is a little pricey for ‘up north’, especially in this area, but I personally found the quality to be on par with similar establishments in bigger cities. We stayed just under $30/person, but our party included several kids/teens that ordered sandwiches and water. Had it been my wife and I only we would probably be closer to $50/person.”

“my goodness.... where to begin? our day almost went to crap. we went to grayling to buy a utility trailer but it turned out the seller was a scammer. we had plans to take our one and only day trip vacation this summer today because our daughter has been ill or in the hospital the majority of the year. we had one day.... but we needed a trailer and the person contacted us saying, today was the day. so.... our only play day this year was tabled and we went to meet up with what turned out to be a thief. so..... we decided to salvage the day and go to a new place for dinner. (try to make our only outing for the year special or unique) after consulting with my man google.... Gallagher's is where we landed. I'm so glad we went there instead of going to someplace familiar. The food was great, really great. Bob is a first class business owner.... very personable. my only problem is.... I'm still full and I only ate 1/2 my meal. We will go back! Thanks Bob”

“We had the lemon pepper whitefish last night and it was outstanding! Being pescatarians, there’s not many places we can go and get beautifully prepared fresh fish on Friday and healthy fresh sides yet Rays pulls through all the time. Top that off with an amazing Cedars for The AuSable beer now on tap & wow. The vibe in there is always chill -perched right there on the side of the river and Justin runs a relaxed and efficient crew. We always feel at home and like family. It means a lot. Lastly, having great blues music in the background makes the ambience even better. Please know how much you are appreciated and respected for all you do! ”

“The baristas are so friendly and good at recommending new drinks. The college campus is new and very clean. They even have a Biggby parking spot close to the building!”

“I grew up in the house next door ( now a used car lot) in the 50’s and early 60’s. I took my wife up there to show her where I grew up and was happy to see the Spikehorn was still there. We stopped in had lunch it was very busy so we ate at the bar. Service was great bartender was friendly and efficient. Food was good . No complaints. I will be going back whenever we are back to Houghton Lake.”
