“At a recent family birthday celebration, I needed appetizers at the last minute. I went to the right people for help! It was no problem for Kal and Ann! They cheerfully made fresh batches of delicious hummus (two varieties) which came with chips and pita bread. I served that, along with two kinds of their fabulous soup, to my dinner guests. Everyone complimented the delicious food Kal and Ann prepared. If you haven’t tried KAL’s Lunch Bowl, located in the Royal Oak Farmers Market yet, I recommend it. You won’t be a “just another customer” ~~ You’ll be a FRIEND!“

I need whoever is reading this to understand that this is not a normal review. This is me stopping what I’m doing because I am genuinely moved.

This was a DoorDash delivery order and I swear to God nothing was off. Not the food. Not the packaging. Not the presentation. Everything was clean, intentional, beautiful, and done with pride. You can feel when food is made by people who care. This was that.

But the service… listen.
They answered the phone immediately. Professional. Kind. Present. And then this man called me back just to confirm my order. Do you understand how rare that is? I have never experienced that in my life. Ever. And I’ve ordered food all over this state. That call alone told me everything I needed to know about who he is and how he runs his business.

It didn’t feel transactional. It felt human.
It felt like gratitude.
It felt like someone saying, “Thank you for trusting us.”

And that hit me. Because it made me realize how many places don’t care — and how LOUD it is when someone does.

This is easily one of the best restaurants in Metro Detroit and the fact that they are 24 HOURS is wild. Midnight, 3 a.m., early morning, whenever — if you want high-quality, real, satisfying food, this is where you order. And yes — HALAL 🙏🏾, which matters more than people understand.

The space itself is new, clean, beautiful, and intentional. The aesthetic is peaceful and elevated. Everything about this place says: we’re proud of what we’re building.

There is nothing like this in the city right now. These are good people doing honest work with heart. You can feel it in how they serve, how they speak, how they show up.

I pray this kitchen will continue to move with pride and excellence. I pray this place stays busy, protected, and blessed. Because places like this deserve to win — not just seasonally, but all year round. God is great!

“The rice bowls here are absolutely amazing! I’ve had them about four times now, and not once have I been disappointed. The restaurant is always clean, and the staff are very professional. This has definitely become one of our go-to spots.“

“The food is very good and fresh. I've not had everything yet, but I'm working on it. I love falafel and usually make it myself. It's good to be able to go somewhere to get it when I don't feel like making it. The only issue I have with the bowls is that the onion cuts are inconsistent. It might seem insignificant, but it really does affect how the whole dish tastes. One bite may have a nice small - medium diced piece of onion and the next night have a huge 4inch piece. That burn of a large piece of raw onion is unpleasant, at least for me. I like onions, but may have to opt to delete them from my bowls and maybe add my own.

The other thing that could use improvement is their pick up window. Each time I've visited, there is a long line of people waiting for their orders. When I approached the pick up counter today, there were about 8 people ahead of me waiting, order was sitting on the counter with approximately 6-7 other completed orders. I felt kinda bad going ahead of everyone else, but I had received a text that my online order was ready. I had ordered from work. Though it looked as if I was cutting in line, I wasn't, and our didn't make sense for me to wait behind the 8 people in front of me who were still waiting and let my food get cold.

I pray that this process is more streamlined soon. I give them grace because they're new and may not have anticipated the demand, but a larger pick up area will help them and their customers.“

It's absolutely amazing, and some of their wraps are wrapped with tortillas that are made with tomatoes, which is not only delicious as hell but also healthy. Can't recommend this place enough“

On top of crunchy Fries with Garlic Sauce Toum OMG perfection. We shared could only eat half, a good bowl of Lentil Soup. $22 for the large will easily feed 4 hungry folks, making this a mega deal 😅. They do a heck of a takeaway business as I found out while I ate in.An avuncular gentleman greeted me well before I made it to the counter. Great sense of humor, too. He joked with the other staff when not waiting on customers.I ordered a full Chicken Greek grilled wrap. Everything is available as full or half. Full wraps are $13, halves are $10. The other sandwiches are similarly priced.Only had to wait a couple minutes for my sandwich to be made.It was mildly flavored, the Greek/Italian dressing & feta really the only flavor involved. No olives, lots of iceberg and some tomato accompanied the chicken, as well. A touch dry, too.Plenty of seating if you want to stay. They even have electrical outlets under benches so you can recharge your electronic leash, I mean, cell phone.There is a restroom but you have to go into the kitchen to get there.

Vegetarian options: Salads, soups, quesadillas and sandwiches can all be had without meat.

Parking: 22 spaces in front.

Kid-friendliness: Unless your kids are feral beasts, they'll be fine here.

Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessed, no curb, double doors and an abundance of room to navigate. Plenty of tables to sidle the wheelchair up to, as well.“
