“Easy to find, good parking, clean restaurant. We were a little concerned when we first walk in, because you order at the counter. That's not the kind of sushi experience we were expecting, but the service was good and the even was fantastic! We had a few rolls, a poke bowl, and miso soup. Others at our table had fried rice and a hibachi bowl. No one left hungry or disappointed. For dessert we had the tempura cheesecake which was to die for! My husband said it is so good that it should be illegal! So pleased! Can't wait to return!!! The only part that is express is the lacking decor in restaurant, the high number of to go orders that they get, and that everything is served in disposable to go containers. Everything else is spot on!Kid-friendliness: The kids we were with left full and happy!“
“I would call this place a "best-kept secret," except that there's nothing secret about it. Located on the food court at Fashion Square Mall, and while other outlets around it have come and gone, Yummy Japan goes on strong. If you go at 6:00 or so, there's always a long line. Sometimes you have to wait a bit, but it's worth it. This is my younger daughter's favorite place to eat (they know us there after multiple visits). The staff is very courteous and efficient. You can customize your order if you like. Honestly, we always get the teriyaki chicken, but that's because it's awesome. It's the best I've ever had in Saginaw, and it's not even close. This includes the old Genji, Hokkaido, and a few other spots. Please patronize this place and keep it in business. It's a gem.“
“We went shortly after 4:00 p.m. and there was only one other table in the restaurant. The service was excellent as would be expected. The food was great although my friend had some problems with the Aged tofu appetizer. She didn't think it was cooked long enough but they remade it quickly. The soup and salad that was a part of our meals was very good. Our entrees were very good with very generous portions! My only criticism at this point was was it really worth the price? With my appetizer and entree with an ice water the bill came to 48 dollars and change. Add a $10 tip to that and for one person it was just under $60!“
“Easily the best sushi restaurant in the county, and contender for the best in the state. Inari sushi was cut to spec with skill, and made for an impressive display. The gyoza is incredible, and their Miso Soup is by far the best I have ever had. It is a taste of my home city, and this place deserves more recognition. I love the owners, and they work very hard.“
