I frequently get the soup and salad combo. Bottomless soup with a very generous salad of choice. pita on the side. Lamplighter sandwich is excellent. Soups are homemade and tasty. Soup and salad combo is no longer bottomless. Fast friendly service.
Review based on takeout:I used to come here a lot for takeout. However, I stopped going since they got rid of the takeout trays.They wrap the Reuben sandwiches with wax paper which caused all our Reuben’s to be soggy once opened.This is not an issue when you eat in the restaurant, they make a great Reuben and other good food (especially onion rings) when eating on site however, not so good when ordering takeout.
This used to be our go-to deli in Macomb County. The Jewish rye, freshly sliced deli meat, tangy coleslaw, crinkle fries and service were amazing. They no longer have crinkle fries, which was a huge disappointment. The last time we were there about a month ago, the coleslaw was a very strange yellow color and tasted odd. We asked the server if they changed the recipe but I think she was new and couldn't shed any light on the weird coleslaw. She offered to replace it with...
