“have visited this restaurant since I was a child that used to be a Mexican one they tried another kind of restaurant before City gourmet opened and I'll tell you what this restaurant will become a staple we had the chicken and a white wine sauce with rice pilaf and sauteed cabbage it was amazing my husband had the steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli absolutely out of this world she's going to do very well here you should go in and try it for yourself“

The turkey meatloaf boasted a delightful balance of savory flavors with a hint of sweetness that left me wanting more. The greens were fresh and vibrant, and the rice and peas were a hearty, comforting side dish. The presentation was as impressive as the taste—my dish was thoughtfully plated, reflecting the care and attention put into every detail. Special kudos to owner Anthony, whose warm welcome and professional demeanor made the dining experience even more enjoyable. His passion for quality and hospitality truly shone through. “While I was in town for the holiday, I stopped by this restaurant and purchased a Curry Goat dinner and a Ox Tail dinner for my parents. I had the Jerk Chicken dinner. The quality of the food and portions were amazing. The fresh Ginger Juice is definitely required for the cold Michigan weather.“

“I ate at Chef Topey’s Kitchen with my children when we made a visit to Detroit. Chet is such a kind man. The food was DELICIOUS!!! From my baby to my six-year-old to my teenagers, to my young adults everyone was beyond satisfied. The food was so good. I tried to make it back before I left but wasn’t able to. I can’t believe some of the negative reviews. I guess nothing is perfect all the time but I would DEFINITELY go!!! See for yourself!!! Oh! And one of my kids is Jamaican and cooks for his family’s restaurant where in Nashville and he loved it too. Go!“

“Delicious food, great service. Seems like a lot of their business is takeout, but I'd highly recommend eating in! While the restaurant isn't quite designed for children, they were beyond accommodating for my kids and we had a wonderful experience. Will definitely be back!“
