I went here out of curiosity, and it turned out to be a great find. The place is a bit retro in style, but it’s very nice and the staff was friendly. My waitress was quick to take my order and my food was ready quite quickly. I got the 16oz prime rib dinner, and everything was absolutely delicious. The wedge salad was elevated by the blue cheese dressing that I think they make in house. The prime rib itself was generous and juicy, and went great with horseradish sauce....
Modes is quintessential nostalgic Traverse City! Kathy was great and had our table ready for us, Olivia was our server and she handled our 9 top with skill and charm. Our party all had a great time.

The service - sat at the bar and was good. Was there in the afternoon, so no one was there and wasn’t busy.
The food - here we go. This was my second time here, and had the same experience, so they’re consistent. Flavorless. Bland. No crust on my prime rib. Half fat. For the most expensive plate they have, I’ll pass. The Salad? A wedge of $2.00 head of lettuce.
