“Oh Happy day, this place closed months ago and was put up for sale. This great Greek family just reopened Monday, we had to visit. Yes same family, Ma & Pa with the daughter welcome all those long time customers with a smile. Thanks Sidney our superstar waitress, you a keeper. Check they Facebook page everyday for Specials. Had a outstanding sandwich named the Smokestack OMG. Corned Beef, Ham n Turkey on Toasted thick Greek Bread with Cheese and sauce. A true gut stuffer, could barely finish it. She had the half Deep Fried Chicken spot on delicious. Marvelous Bean n Ham Soup made in house. This folks a Downriver Gem , place been a restaurant over 80 years with different names. Easy to find just a hundred yards off I-75 the Rockwood exit. Spotless clean everything and friendly staff, a must visit. Support local small Ma n Pa business, I also have how about you?? #dixiecafe #rockwoodmi #greekdiner #familyrestaurant #greatfood #downriverclassic #downriverfriendseat“

“A no nonsense established place to enjoy real home cooked style foods for a good price. If restaurants could be cushy fuzzy slippers, this would be that! Except of course...much tastier and no fuzz! :)“

“I had breakfast at Nanas kitchen this morning. After eating, talking with company I noticed the cook wasn't wearing gloves while handling the food. He handled bacon, wiped his hands on his apron, proceeded to grab his phone and coffee and talking to customers. Not washing hands before returning to handling food. Another cook also started, no gloves, while grabbing bacon, pile of hash browns with 2 hands, in-between grabbing the trashcan from under the counter. The service and food was good but seeing the above grossed me out. Waitress was told but, said she would say something but I continued watching the cook handling food with no gloves until we left.“

“It was my first time visiting Tim’s Coney Island in Southfield this past Saturday with my kids and our church youth group, about a dozen of us in total. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were great, and the prices were very reasonable—our bill came out to about $10 each. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making our experience even better. We all left satisfied, and I can honestly say this will not be our last visit. Definitely looking forward to going back soon!“

“One of my favorite coneys in the area. They have good french toast that is cooked well. Also I like their house made hot sauce and dressing. The service is great. The food comes out quick. If you are going for breakfast, get there early so you don't have to wait.“

“Great Food-Fantastic staff! Always comes to the table at the right temperature! It’s a small building but they push out the food! The kitchen always listens carefully to special orders/requests! Came in yesterday (Sunday) and I told the waitress “they made it exactly how I wanted it-it was delicious” -and she said “they better! I put them on notice!!” ?? Everyone seemed happy to be there, and I heard the waitstaff saying goodbye to each other at shift change-and all were so sweet to each other. No catty drama. We come here often and it never disappoints!“
