Red Rock Barbecue offers a great experience with a cool atmosphere, described as like a jazz club with nice couches and updated lighting, perfect for a date night dinner. The service is generally excellent, friendly, and fast, though it can be extremely slow when the place is extremely busy. The menu features expertly smoked meats, tender and falling off the bone. Standout dishes include the magnificent Mac and Cheese, the best Mac & cheese ever had for some, made with smoked gouda. The Garbage Pail fries, loaded with jalapenos, cheese sauce, and shredded barbecue pork, are absolutely fantastic. The burnt ends are tender and flavorful, though one reviewer found them too fatty. Other highlights are the delicious Cobb rock salad with homemade dressings, the very good crispy roasted brussel sprouts, the delicious Baby Beet Salad, and the Cornbread Cobbler, a perfectly balanced surprise. Sandwiches like the boulder sandwich and the apple butter pulled pork sandwich are available, along with options like pork tacos and the tasty Lion’s Share platter. The cocktails are delicious, and happy hour offers good value, such as two beers for $7 total. The main critique is that some dishes, like the wings, are noticeably lacking seasoning and could use a little salt and pepper. Overall, it is definitely worth coming back to for the great atmosphere, strong service, and delicious, expertly smoked food.
