Welsch's Big Ten Tavern is a spacious restaurant featuring a large bar area and a small patio. The staff is friendly, and the food is served hot. The menu includes a variety of dishes such as barbecue, homemade dressings, and a fish fry. Unique options are available, like a burger with homemade jelly and provolone, and the broasted chicken is highly praised, with customers enjoying it in various forms, including a sandwich and tenders. Although the bread for a specific burger was not available, the server handled the situation well. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with reasonable prices. The exterior may not be impressive, but the interior is large, clean, and accessible, though wheelchair accessibility inside and outside could be difficult. Parking is ample but poorly surfaced and barely accessible. Customers have enjoyed the all-you-can-eat fish, noting the service is very good and timely. On special occasions like St. Patrick's Day, the restaurant serves good food such as corned beef and cabbage, although some meals may have small issues, like receiving fries instead of tater tots or toppings on the side. Service can sometimes be slow, with servers appearing infrequently, which may impact the dining experience. Breakfast is also a highlight, with dishes like the Huevos rancheros and Ham and Cheese Omelettes being recommended. Customers appreciate the hometown hospitality and the option to buy meals in bulk, such as buckets of chicken.
