“I cannot believe I have not tried this place before. I was looking for Thai near me and this place came up. The reviews really sold it. I was worried maybe it was overrated….but I was so happy to be proven wrong. My husband and I got a few dishes and loved them all. The Tom Kha soup, basil fried rice and the panang curry were our favorites. We also had the green curry and beef and broccoli, which were only slightly less amazing. The mango sticky rice was also impressive…especially since the mango was good in Minnesota December!

I highly recommend this place. I’ve been looking for my Thai place in MN and I finally found it.“

Their spice levels were great- if you’re a baby, like I am, you can definitely handle their one star spice no problem. “Ordered delivery. They don’t mess around. I ordered their special fried rice - there was plenty shrimp and meat, and the rice had that wok hei flavor. If a staple like fried rice is good then this bodes well for the rest of the menu. My fiancé loved the coconut curry. I look forward to trying other items on the menu.“

“Lemon Thai Kitchen is a real gem! From the outside, it looks like a humble little mom and pop restaurant that probably doesn't get a lot of foot traffic. Inside, it gives the same vibes. BUT, this restaurant is very good! I've come here twice, and both times, the food has been top notch. The pad thai (spicy!!) is very yummy, along with their chicken wings! Their pad see ew was also really good! Friends I've gone with also recommend the tom kha soup and drunken noodles.

Definitely coming back for more!“

The stir fry dishes and curries are my go-to. I usually eat them with white rice. They have great service, quick and efficient, and the rice is usually cooked well.“

“I had the chicken birria fries and chicken birria taco. Omg that taco stole the show hands down, the best birria taco I’ve ever had. I also loved the birria fries with the Ka’Ris corn (get the corn! “Not the same as Joy’s original but new ownership has updated the space beautifully and it’s immaculately clean. I’m sure our present hard economic times are to blame for the less-than-perfect review that Joy always earned. I was disappointed but not enough to not return. I’m sad it’s no longer the true Joy’s. Food is still very good albeit with many changes, and the menu is uncomfortably non-substitutable. Rigid. A single diner simply cannot order the fried egg rolls because the order provides four, no half orders allowed. In most restaurants, even a full order of two is often offered by the half. Tea is served via a pot or cup; as a single, I ordered just the cup, but it was cold, and I did want a little more (if it had been hot). Servers are minimal but very personable; attentive and well-intentioned. This was difficult for me to write; I have treasured Joy's for many years. I will return but likely sparingly given the changes and new high cost.“

“I ate here for the first time this week. And I felt that I was back in Thailand. I ordered Thai Noodle soup. (GUAY TIEW). I was stationed there for one year during the Viet Nam War, and ate Thai food every day. Went back to visit in 2019 for 3 months. Returning this winter to live there. Anyways, I have been to several restaurants in search for this dish here at home. And never could find one that was the same. Many were Vietnamese that served Pho and is not the same. It looks the same but the flavor is different. Only Thai cooks, especially from the Issan area have the secret recipe I guess. Guay Tiew is one of the top dishes in Thailand. Right up there with Pad Thai and Tom Yum, etc. I believe that it does not get noticed because there is not a long list of ingredients and spices like most dishes. Also had a perfect Thai Coffee and a Singha beer. The Lady that waited on me was the best one could ask for. Please try the Thai Noodle Soup, (Guay Tiew) for a treat.“

“Came a couple weeks ago before going to the Jack-o-lantern Spectacular and ordered takeout. Food was very good. They gave us an extra pad thai but forgot the cream cheese wontons but made it out quickly. We really enjoyed the chicken eggroll and wontons. The workers were very nice. Will be back to dine in.“

“I had the Thai BBQ Chicken (Gai Yang) today. It was freaking delicious. Tons of flavor, it was chicken thigh which was cooked properly with skin on, well marinated. The sauce had a lot of heat and some fish notes, only down side was the rice was a little dry, but other than that, I will be back. Please support this place, they are unique for DT and do a great job. Order as the kiosk at the entrance but I'm sure if you had questions they would be happy to ask them behind the counter.“

“Our first time here. The sake and plum wine were delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing, tall ceilings and dim lighting. The food was exquisite, the vegetable tempura was perfectly prepared, and we both loved our entrees. The server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We both plan on coming back.“

This was by far one of my favorite Thai orders in many years - we had the khao soi curry, red curry fried rice, pad Thai along with a couple apps and were floored with how amazing everything was. They actually apply the heat! Will definitely be ordering from here again in the near future.“

We got the green curry w/ chicken, pad thai w/ shrimp, steak laab, and sushi platter, plus a couple happy hour apps (5-6:30pm weeknights) and coffees to-go for Monday morning. “Stopped by Sawatdee for dinner and tried the Tom Kha, duck curry, and vegetarian spring rolls.

Everything tasted very fresh. The spring rolls were delicious. The wrapper was a little loose, but that’s fine. They were plentiful for the price. Two large pieces, halved. I actually stopped myself from finishing them so I could enjoy the rest of the order.

The Tom Kha was flavorful and came in a huge entrée-sized portion. Fresh kaffir lime leaves gave it a glorious depth. The lemongrass was clearly fresh and imparted exactly the flavor you want. It tasted exactly as expected, but the portion was massive, easily two to three times the size of places like Amazing Thai. For the price, it was perfect.

The duck curry was great. The duck was tasty, the red curry blend was on point, and it was only $18. That’s compared to $30 at places like Amazing Thai for less food.

Sawatdee gets treated a bit like fast casual, but the flavor absolutely competes with the best of them, especially if you care about value. Great dinner all around. It smacks!! :)

“We had a reservation for 7 - in the notes I specified 6 adults and a high chair. I could see our table had 7 adult seating's so I had to ask the hostess to fix that. Also specified we were there for a birthday celebration, again those notes must not make their way to the actual restaurant or they don't read them. When we checked in (we were 14 minutes early) for our reservation we were told we couldn't be seated until our actual reservation time. The restaurant had plenty of help and we didn't have our complete party with us which they knew and we were not expecting to order right away rather we just wanted to sit and relax. “This place has never done me wrong when I got food here. If it was just better lit inside I'd give the Atmosphere a 5. But the place being clean and professional was enough for me.

I miss getting orders here. Food was always worth the price.“
