“I pulled in today just before 1PM— and I mean JUST before 1 to order one of their ham and cheese sandwiches.. which by the way are so “melt in your mouth” addicting & I was welcomed by the owner. She had a big smile on her face, took my order, and we chatted about our mutual love for snow, kids, amongst other things. As my sandwich was being made, she ran outside to take down the “Open” sign. When she came back in, I gasped and said “Oh wow I must’ve gotten lucky - do you close AT 1?!” She said, “You sure did, and we sure do.” She made me feel like I was the very FIRST customer of the day. She welcomed & engaged me like I was the only person (notice I didn’t say “customer”) in the world and even though they were wrapping up shop, they didn’t make me feel like they were. “Went to the Avon Cabin Cafe for the first time this past week and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the three meat omelet which came with hash browns and a pancake! The pancake was the size of a plate! I definitely recommend eating here. I wish I lived closer so I could go more frequently. Will definitely be back!“
