“These things are straight up delicious. About a year ago I had a coupon for a free bowl, and at that time I did not even know what the word "açaí" meant. Was it a fruit? A yoga pose? An international animation style? Whatever it is (okay I know now that it's a berry that is high in antioxidants) it makes for tasty bowls of sweetness. When I stopped in most recently I got the "Dual Bowl", which contained açaí and pitaya (aka dragonfruit) sorbets, topped with banana, strawberries, and granola. It tasted super, super good. Its sweetness makes it satisfying on a dessert level, but it's both nutritious and filling enough that I kind of want to treat it like a lunch entree. Also since these bowls are in the ten-dollar range, it makes more sense to me to think of it that way. But really, the main draw for me is how good these things taste. Between all of their different sorbet and topping options, they have a huge amount of variety. They also have a ton of smoothies made with Greek yogurt, and really just a wide range of offerings that use healthy-berry sorbets. A lot of their sorbets are made in house, and you can tell they are very serious about the health benefits of their ingredients. This is really very much a place that anyone should at least try.“
“My Aunt passed away on Thursday. Friday afternoon my cousins were able to give us details - viewing on Monday late afternoon and graveside services Tuesday morning. I called multiple caterers, many who wanted a larger order or more time. I left a voice mail at Best Affordable Catering. About 4:45, Wade called me back. I explained the situation and that I wanted to deliver a meal to my cousins and their families. Wade said no problem. I asked what he would suggest and he offered a nice menu. When he gave me the cost, it was much less than I had intended to spend. I told Wade I thought the menu sounded great, but what could we add? Wade added a second protein, vegetables and a dessert assortment. He gave me a time he would deliver on Monday. Wade did everything he said he would, called me when he had made the delivery and charged exactly what we had agreed to. My cousins said the food was wonderful, and raved about the Swedish meatballs! They were so appreciative of having a delicious meal prepared for them on such a difficult day. Wade was an ANGEL for my family!“
“So many good things to say here. Chelsea was amazing and made everything so easy. We did a grazing board for my Dads Celebration of life and everyone loved it. The mixture of options was a hit but if you have beef tenderloin lovers, add more. That was the first to go because it was soo good! Also, we did his favorite dessert that was carrot cake cupcakes. The fact that they don't use dairy, eggs, or nuts in their cooking covered all of our bases and left everyone pleased. “Did a small trial with deli Double and loved the food, value and service. They catered a meeting and everyone loved the food. Starting with the delicious assortment of nut breads, donuts and baked treats followed by super fresh fruits. The variety of generously filled sandwiches were a big hit including the requested gluten free bread on a few and a few veggie only sandwiches. Gourmet chicken salad sandwich on croissant was amazing. The coffee stayed hot all day and still tasted good. The variety tray of bars/cookies was delicious and that baby field green salad with honey balsamic dressing was a highlight for sure! “I was driving by and did a double take when I saw their sign. I decided to stop in to see what they offered because Nigerian restaurant menus tend to vary. It’s a small carryout only spot. The woman working there was very nice and accommodating. I informed her that I’m vegan and inquired about a few of my favorite Nigerian foods: egusi, greens, jollof, and beans. She didn’t have egusi. She stated that she had greens but they’re made with fish. She then offered to make me a fresh batch sans the fish if I had time to wait. I most certainly do! It wasn’t a long wait either. I got a hefty container of food for about $15. There was enough food for 2 days (if I wasn’t being greedy).I tried my food right away. The greens were very good and clearly freshly made with quality produce. The beans were good. The jollof rice was SLAMMIN!! Perfection in the flavor department!I’m unsure how long they’ve been open, but they seem fairly new. They’re located in a strip mall with other small, locally owned businesses. Again, it’s carryout only; you cannot sit in and eat. (I ate in my car.) “In the past, I’ve had great experiences here. I’ve brought several friends for their first visits. Food and drinks are great, always; tonight was no exception. Tonight, however, we had such negative experiences with staff. Our table wasn’t ready as reserved. It happens, usually no big deal, but they told us it would be just a minute and they’d let us know. it was 15 before I went back to the host table to ask about it and no one seemed to know what I was talking about. At the time three people were behind the host desk and I had walked by three servers chatting on my way in). Because of this, we lost one of the people who was going to join us. Another member of our party had to get to work (the reason we had reserved a time) and by the time our table was ready, he didn’t have time to order an entree. To be fair, we did have two people who were supposed to join us not show up and I understand that’s frustrating, but we were the ones who DID show up and had (or tried to have) an app, entres and multiple drinks. Besides the app coming late (with the entree, even though I asked a second time about it before ordering the entree), one of the entrees we ordered was wrong, but we had given up on anyone caring by that time. It felt like we were an inconvenience to the hosts and our server. I think he actually may have rolled his eyes more than once. I felt like I was somewhere that needed table turnover or at a dive bar where polite service isn’t really an expectation, but there were open tables near us and we didn’t complain about our late table or app. And we communicated about our absent party members as best we could once we knew. Usually, we tip really well because we’ve worked food service and understand it’s hard work and stuff happens. We understand EVERYONE is short-staffed right now, but we are still paying for a babysitter and nights out are precious, even when expected friends have things come up or don’t have time to wait for a table. If I want someone to roll their eyes at me, I’ll stay home with my teen and do it for free, thanks. Sincerely, it doesn’t take much to satisfy us (a couple weeks ago we tried Colita for the first time and our table was over an hour late, but the staff were polite and did their best to make our experience pleasant and I didn’t feel like I was a burden despite the extremely busy restaurant) but tonight after waiting, then a couple attempts to flag down the server so we could get home to relieve the babysitter, my husband finally had to go look for the server for a box (for the wrong entree that we didn’t finish) and the check. I know staffing is short right now and customers can be super-rude, but we aren’t rude and this was too much. No matter how good the blueberry smash and location on the lake are, I don’t think I’ll be back, and definitely not with friends. And I don’t think the two people who joined us as first-time guests will be back either - they were already skeptical about leaving the cities but I said it was worth it. Not tonight, it wasn’t.“
