“Mauer Brothers’ is a great place to stop for a drink and meet with a friend or talk with locals. The people of Elba were welcoming, and the conversations were real. You’ll learn surprising stories about the people and places there if you take the time to listen. The bar is still owned by the descendants of the original owner from 1890, and there I learned the story of the Fire Tower and that of Black Bill of Elba (and saw his legendary trout mounted). Beer prices were fabulous. Stop here with a friend the next time you’re near Whitewater State Park in the evening!”

“Such a fun little gem we found after climbing the Elba Fire Tower. Tony was so much fun and welcoming. Great bartender who had amazing service. And the local patrons were friendly and provided many laughs. What started as a 30-min stop to buy a Elba T-shirt turned into 3 hours of great conversation, many laughs and Tony showing me what MN pull tabs are all about! Such a great time! Check them out!!!”

“Best place to eat in Utica, MN!!Likely the best place to eat in the area, but they just do burgers and pizza. Great Burgers, Great pizza, sit down with your drink and watch some sports and in a very short time you will get an amazing burger.Make sure you try the pub chips too!!”

“This restaurant is very simple but acts like a supper club with a very nice salad bar. The service was fantastic and friendly. We had the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, and the asparagus was fantastic. When in the area I would recommend this place!”

It is nice that they have a kids area and an arcade space so the whole family can enjoy there time there at the Road Trip Bar and Grill. The owners have done an amazing job with there Bar and they care about there patrons and community. The owners Craig and Sue are so thoughtful and kind. “Hands down, this is the best bakery in the area! If you're on your way through town, I promise you it's worth the small detour down main street. We've been customers since we were in diapers as kids and will continue to be customers until we grow old and we're back in diapers (haha). We HIGHLY RECCOMEND you make the trip to St. Charles and get yourself their world famous Long Johns! You will not be disappointed!”

“Good pizza joint, accessible by ATV at the Altura end the South-East MN ATV trail. Long wait for pizza's and drinks, but the pizza's were good. The place was somewhat busy. All we noticed on the menu was pizza and flat breads.”

Just like that on a Sunday I got to book two haircuts for my boys and the lady was very understanding about my oldest's autism. Everyone was friendly and the boys had no issues. “I was in the St Charles location late Saturday 11/11/2023 evening around 7:45. The crew was cleaning up, getting ready to close when I came in and asked if they were still talking orders. Of course they said. I ordered the (Swiss Onions Melt) I believe it was called. Seriously, this had to be the Best Burger I have ever tasted. This, along with the excellent cheerful service, made this a very memorable experience. I stop in at this location almost every weekend in my travels from Owatonna to Whitehall WI. “In the past we had hit or miss experiences with the St charles subway location. We got lunch yesterday and we were very impressed with the service and quality of the sandwiches. I got the new #5 which had this delicious tomato parmesan vinaigrette and fresh mozzarella. Since their rebrand this store seems to be doing awesome. Very good experience!”

“The food is usually really good. Sometimes if you hit it on slow times the food or buns can get a little soggy. I really hate getting a burger that the ketchup and mustard are running out the bun. But I take responsibility for that. I should remember to order it with none on it. Then I can get packets of the ketchup and put my own on. The service and the whole program there is 100% turn around from opening day. To many kids working and no one really knew what was happening. Needed more adults working. The manager offer to many free coupons for free food for mistakes. But that news got around fast and way too many people were complaining and getting free food. If it's not right then in my opinion you need to bring to the managers attention then not 2-3 days later. Costs them a lot of money that it shouldn't have. It's always clean table wiped down condiments and soda machine area always clean and filled.”
