“My daughter and I just visited Friday night and enjoyed authentic Somalian food served by super helpful, friendly people. We had the camel and the goat and each were fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with Bibi who explained the food and how it related to Somalian culture. I would love to go back again“

“Ever since I’ve tried fufu and egusi soup, I’ve become addicted! I’ve also done some research on egusi itself, and it has so many nutritional benefits ranging from protein, magnesium, vitamins, calcium, fiber, and so much more. On top of that, it is insanely delicious. ESPECIALLY from here! I called for takeout and the owner had a last batch that they so kindly saved for me. She even offered me to come later for a fresh new batch, but I’m more than happy with what they already had prepared. Im not too sure how the traffic is in Northtown mall since I haven’t been there in quite some time, but I hope it’s busy enough and wish the owners all the success in the world. They are so friendly and accommodating. Thank you so much for servicing me so well & for such delicious food. I will be back regularly. ❤️“

“I was staying in the University of Minnesota and this place was a life saver when I did not want to eat in the dining hall. Their falafel sandwich was genuinely some of the best falafel I have ever had and their fries were undoubtedly the best fries I have ever had. The service was super quick and we got our food in under 10 minutes consistently. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant had a great atmosphere to it. Would strongly recommend if you are in the area!“

“Wanted to try something new. Walked into a "local" bonding, hole-in-wall vibe restaurant. Had no idea what any of the items on menu were. Staff explained what dishes consisted of. Went with the KK with chicken. Was able to sit and pay later. They brought food to our table and gave complimentary cokes and waters for us. Staff said they wanted us to "have a good experience and come back". I absolutely loved the food and we cleaned the plate fast! Also, they did not force a tip after paying. Definitely go! And experience amazing hospitality and great food“

“Great place and great food! There are two locations, but this location SAGAL RESTAURANT is really awesome with the food service and its menu.. must be why it's always so busy! The menu has a variety of different foods to try, and I will recommend other customers to visit this place, I am sure they will like it and they will keep coming back all the time. the Rice Chicken“
“The best East African restaurant in the Twin Cities hands down! I go to Kalsan at least once a month to get the Chicken Suqaar with rice, it's one of my favorite dishes in the city. They recently remodeled the interior too so I tend to sit down instead of ordering take-out now. Great place!“

“I convinced my two coworkers to try African food. None of us have had it before, (I'm the more adventurous of the three when it comes to food), so we set off to Milah's.
We entered the restaurant and were greeted. We let her know that we hadn't had African food prior, and she said she would bring us some samples, and we could sit wherever we'd like.
After trying these, I got the Goat soup and Fufu, which was delicious with a nice medium spiciness. The Fufu on the side was nice and filling, and tasted good with the soup.
The dish also came with a small cup of something on the side, which I think was ground mango seed. The ground mango seed was bitter on its own, but when added to the soup, gave it a really nice nutty after taste, and wasn't bitter anymore.
My friends both had chicken gravy (stew) with rice, and they were both very impressed. One coworker has an affinity for spicy foods, so he had the (Habanero) pepper sauce and he loved it. The spiciness gave him a run for his money.
Additionally, we had 2 different types of Jamaican ginger beer. In the fridge, I was surprised to see Malta India, which I didn't know what common in that part of the world. They also had assorted Jamaican drinks I wasn't familiar with.
The wait staff were friendly, and we very much enjoyed the food.
The only slightly negative items: It was pretty warm in the restaurant, and there were a few flies buzzing about.
However, we had a great time, and really enjoyed the food. If I'm ever back in MN again, I would visit Milah's again.“

“Just moved to the neighborhood and this place is incredible. The folks are super friendly and everything has been delicious. The first time we went, we sat in the dining room and they have a back room with a table of billardettes. It was super cool to see folks playing and learn how it works. My partner is Eritrean and the Awaze Tibbs and a veggie platter were a smash hit. Since then, we've had cheese steaks and espresso drinks. Both were delicious. They roast their own coffee beans and even sold us some. We are also looking forward to the upcoming Eritrean community events they have advertised. Only critique is the bathroom could use some love. It doubles as a storage closet/shower full of cleaning supplies.“

“I was driving by and did a double take when I saw their sign. I decided to stop in to see what they offered because Nigerian restaurant menus tend to vary. It’s a small carryout only spot. The woman working there was very nice and accommodating. I informed her that I’m vegan and inquired about a few of my favorite Nigerian foods: egusi, greens, jollof, and beans. She didn’t have egusi. She stated that she had greens but they’re made with fish. She then offered to make me a fresh batch sans the fish if I had time to wait. I most certainly do! It wasn’t a long wait either. I got a hefty container of food for about $15. There was enough food for 2 days (if I wasn’t being greedy).I tried my food right away. The greens were very good and clearly freshly made with quality produce. The beans were good. The jollof rice was SLAMMIN!! Perfection in the flavor department!I’m unsure how long they’ve been open, but they seem fairly new. They’re located in a strip mall with other small, locally owned businesses. Again, it’s carryout only; you cannot sit in and eat. (I ate in my car.) They also offer catering services.Be sure to check out this spot if you’re in the MSP area.

“I got the lamb gyro with sweet potato fries for lunch and wow! The amount you get for the price is phenomenal! The sauce for the fries needs to come in a bottle...I'd put it on everything! The sandwich can come in different applications like a bowl, wrap or salad. I got the gyro on pita and barely got through half because of the amount of delicious lamb! This will definitely be my new spot in the skyway.“
