We know we’re getting incredible food every time, which keeps us coming back. The pizza and burgers? Unbeatable. The truffle fries? An absolute must. And if you haven’t tried the corn dip yet, do yourself a favor and order it... it’ll be a permanent starter in your rotation after one bite. “The Bulldog is a pretty standard place, warm beer, stiff drinks, but the reason I'm giving it a five star review is because of our server Hannah. She was AWESOME! She was also friendly, attentive and accommodating. We would go back to the Bulldog just because of her. Thank you Hannah for bringing some joy to our hang!“

“One of the true hidden gems of the Twin Cities metro, an absolutely fantastic nerd and even kid-friendly space (foosball, arcade machines, darts are all favorites). There are few better places to meet up and play a game - personally, not being a sports person, I love the lack of TVs, nothing to sap your attention or make you feel captive to random commercials. I go there regularly to play TTRPGs. Great beer, alcoholic and non-alcoholic seltzers, you can BYOF (Mashawi grill up the road is delicious). The beers aren't the usual 6 IPAs and 5 sours, there's a nice mix of British and German styles (including wheat beers, which are weirdly hard to find).

There are absolutely a million play spaces in different nooks and crannies in the building, you can always find a quiet place to play even if there's music, etc. The owner hosts tons of events, nerdy and otherwise. I only wish I could drink more beer and go more often.“

“I have been to Pub 42 many times either by myself or with a party up adds of 6 people. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly. We have had the pleasure of having Riley and Iza as our servers on many occasions and I can’t stress how kind and accommodating both of them are, I have celiac disease and they are knowledgeable about the ingredients and the process of the food so that I am safe when eating there. Including the double checking and making sure that my food is gluten free, and with very limited chance of cross contamination. Both do a great job of making sure the food is good and arrives at an appropriate time, while being friendly and kind and connecting with us as patrons. I would recommend pub 42 to anyone and everyone and tell them to request being seated in either Riley or Iza’s section to guarantee them the best of service available.“

“I got into Minneapolis at 1130am, and wanted to get a bite to eat. Almost all of the eating establishments in the area were closed, except this place. Good food, good beer, great atmosphere, and great music. You can tell that this is a 'locals favorite'. Put this place on your list, as a good place to chill.“

“This place has character! One of the chefs, Nate, let me try a new creation of his. I’m not sure if it’s going to become a menu item but it was the best burger I’ve had in a while. The house kettle chips were so thin and crispy, also the best I’ve had possibly ever. I’m not a fan of buffalo or blue cheese typically, but I trusted his taste with this burger and boy I’m glad I did. 10/10! Everything went together so well. It’s not on the menu but I hope it will be soon. He called it the “Beefalo” I’ll be back for it soon!“

We were all in one area, but people were moving around alot, lots of food and drink orders... everyone was happy with the efficient service and the food was great!! “Love the new space. Digital signage said burgers were $3 on Wednesdays. They were $4. Still tasty and a great deal, but update your sign. I sat for 10 minutes and watched the server take a picture of people at a table and chat with her friends. Never came near my high top table. I finally went to the bartender (very nice) who took my drink and food order. Server swung by 10 minutes later (20 minutes after I sat down). Told her I ordered from the bartender. She never stopped by after that. I was there for 45 minutes, saw her interact with her tables twice. Service was pretty scarce. 2 or 3 staff sitting in a booth. If the bartender hadn't been awesome, I would have left. Burger and onion rings were good.“

“Our 50th wedding anniversary party was at Chester Bird on August 22 2026. The staff was amazing. The atmosphere was great. Our dinner for 60 people was perfect. Cocktails were flowing with smiling staff never forgetting a face. Definitely recommend. Also the bar area is really nice“

Their Oak Room space was perfect for a group of 120ish people, event staff were extremely helpful in setting up food, drinks, and fun for our guests and took great care of us the night of. Highly recommend as both a neighborhood bar, and as a place to host an event of any size.“
