“After a hike on the Wagon Wheel Trail, my family and I decided to try Corky's Pizza in LaCrescent, MN. My children and my wife absolutely loved this place and said they would be back at Corky's Pizza soon. We were immediately seated, and the restaurant was not too busy. The menu was extensive, and my children had no difficulty finding something to eat here. The person who waited on us was very good about keeping our drinks full and promptly refilling them. When we asked for condiments or extra special items, he seemed a bit annoyed at the requests. My children had burgers, pizzas, and desserts, and absolutely loved every bite. My sandwich was okay. The sides with most of the entrees are kettle chips, and French fries are not on the menu. The prices were very reasonable and we all enjoyed their breadsticks. Corky's desserts really left my family wanting more. We liked the presentation and the size of the desserts. My children wanted to come back very soon for the desserts and talked about the desserts on the drive home. I would recommend Corky's Pizza if you are in the area for a splendid family outing.”

“Sagra is an Italian Eatery above Piggy’s on Front Street in La Crosse. It was recommended to us by several residents. It did not disappoint. We started with an Arancini appetizer. We have had arancini before, but NEVER like this. It’s the best we have ever had. Instead of being rice heavy, it was cheese heavy. They were almost like a Wisconsin cheese curd. The pecorino, a mixture of Italian cheeses, was melty and delicious, especially dipped in the buttermilk dipping sauce. We also ordered the special appetizer, fried wax beans. The breading was very light, almost like tempura. The dipping sauce added the flavor. They were good, but the Arancini definitely stood out. For entrees we got a crawfish dish and a chicken dish. Both were generous portions, which allowed us to have leftovers for lunch the following day. The Crawfish Fra Diavola was filled with crawfish and was very flavorful with fresh ingredients. The Chicken Scarpariello was delicious. The polenta was rich and creamy. The chicken comes bone in and skin on, which keeps it juicy. This dish also had Italian sausage and fresh vegetables. I really enjoyed the Italian sausage as a contrast to the chicken. The only disappointment was when we asked the waitress what 5 dishes were on the “chef’s market menu,” she didn’t know and really wouldn’t elaborate. I wanted to try that, but at $58 per person, the requirement for full table participation, and no information, I wasn’t willing to take the chance.”

“Exquisite! The apple and cheese salad was uniform cut and the flavor perfectly balance. Pure joy in every bite!
The pappardelle noodles perfectly cooked and each one was evenly coated with the sauce. Amazing!!
The pistachio crème brûlée on point and heavenly. Overall nothing was over salted or overly sweet. Flavors pair well.
My server knew the menu very well and explain each dish with poise and patience. She wiped the table in between coarses with a crumb tray and clean white cloth then set me up for the next dish with proper placement. I also observed the staff being courteous and professional with each other.

“We stopped by last night around 7:15, and there was a good sized line. We weren’t aware that the store was supposed to close at 7 (the website says 9pm). The young man working was the only one there and he handled the line and the late closing extremely well. It wasn’t until someone came in around 7:40 and there were still about 3 parties in line that he told the new customer who came in that they were already closed and that we realized we were “those people”. I just wanted to take a minute to compliment this young man working. He really did a great job of handling a stressful situation, the line was long but you wouldn’t have known by how he handled himself. The customer service was great and so was the ice cream!”

“Outstanding service from Grace. She made sure everything was perfect. Food was amazing. Devils on Horseback for app, pear salad and Italian soup, day boat scallops, spicy pasta with colossal shrimp and creme brûlée for dessert. All were fabulous.”

“We love Diggers. Best in La Crosse. But a recent trip let us down. The classic bread crack to locals was gone. Fayzes provided it and they closed. Today People’s Food Coop brought Fayzes bakery back. Hoping the wonderful bread is restored!”
