American Restaurants in Lutsen

“My wife and I typically take two vacations on the North Shore every year - one in Spring and one in Fall. Tho our accommodations are 45 miles from the Cascade Restaurant and Pub we make it a point to make the 90 mile round trip so that we can eat there. The food is really good and the staff is unfailingly friendly. Our visit in the fall includes our grown daughters, their husbands, and our six grandchildren and when we all show up at the CR&P you’d think we’d drive the staff to the brink of madness, but no, doesn’t phase them a bit. Things like shops and restaurants seem to frequently change in the area but this pub/restaurant is always great, the food always delicious, and the staff always accommodating. We’re BIG fans.“

“We stayed in one of the “base camp” cabins for 3 nights and for the most part really loved our stay! It was the perfect sized cabin for 2 adults and our dog! We could see the lake from our room which was nice and really appreciated the pet friendliness and welcome bag! I will say though that if you want a quiet sleep I would choose one of the other cabin options because the base camp units are all connected and share walls which we didn’t realize, maybe we missed that in the pictures when booking. That just meant that during our first night we didn’t sleep much due to the neighbor on one side playing very loud music later into the night and on the other side 2 individuals arguing outside so loudly that we could unfortunately hear every word of their hour long conversation. The only other thing we mentioned to the staff upon checkout was that our door had a lot of difficulty closing unless basically slamming it shut while pulling it closed - probably not the best thing for our neighbors to have to listen to too.We also really loved the cascade lodge restaurant and appreciated the discount when eating there, very great food and hotel/restaurant staff were awesome! We would definitely consider staying here again!“

“The menu size was small, so I hoped for above average items. I paid $22 for basic nachos. $16 for nachos and +$6 for meat. it was red' white and blue chips with some Colby jack sprinkled on top. minimal smoked chicken. The only flavor I got was the sauce I had to dip it in. I was really disappointed. Stole some waffle fries from a friend. They were wonderful. There are other items I want to try, but do not waste money on the nachos. We sat in the bar, I felt horrible for the bartender. She had to do all the drinks, and serve for the entire bar. It is small, but she needed someone else in there. Good 10 minutes before we got a drink. Truly felt bad for her.“
