“When you think of Maple Grove, you think of all the chain restaurants off Elm Creek Blvd. or Main Street. There must be hundreds of them. What you DON'T think about is a very busy bar and grill that is incongruously located in the middle of houses, in a part of Maple Grove you never knew existed. You also don't expect that a Maple Grove restaurant could have existed since 1958. If you aren't really familiar with the area, you'll want to GPS it. Yet, here stands The Lookout Bar and Grill; a perennial favorite. I don't know how or why I discovered this place, but it doesn't disappoint. My favorite is the "broasted" fried chicken, which is fried chicken that has been made in a pressure cooker (I had to Google it). It's juicy, crispy, and tender. What more could you want from fried chicken? It's a great price. Pro Tip: If you like white meat chicken ($1.59 extra), order a 3-piece and you'll get TWO large breasts and a wing -- along with a swimming pool of mashed potatoes and gravy, a very moist piece of cornbread, and creamy coleslaw for $14.99. Sometimes my wife and I split this and it's enough for two ($7.50 a person!!). Did I mention that the mashed potatoes and gravy are larger than Lake Superior? You can even sub in tater-tots or fries, if you want. Lookout has excellent wings, and they also can double as an entree (8 wings for $12.99). I don't mean to imply that Lookout is a chicken restaurant. Their menu is quite varied and the food is cooked to order. I haven't ever had anything bad here and the prices are a tremendous value. Yet, I suspect that many people know Lookout for the huge bar, and live music. They have a stage inside the restaurant and it is pretty loud even BEFORE the band plays. When the band is playing, forget conversation unless you and your dining companions have headsets. Most of the time, I eat here before the band starts to play, so it's OK. But you may like the music; most people do. Also, pull tabs seem to be a big thing here. People buy them literally by the bucket, but I doubt many of those people can quit their day-jobs at the end of the night, based on their winnings (or losings, as the case may be). I love this place and I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it earlier. I do miss their pre-Covid free popcorn, but oh well.“
“They don't have sour beers ? Food and service is great. Has a neighborhood feel to it. I would love to see a beer menu instead of trying to see what taps they have from across the bar. Very nice selection on the menu.Wouldn't call myself a regular but here at least twice a month and would recommend it to others.“

“I stopped in today because books are my jam and I was so pleasantly surprised. The shop is so lovely and clean. It has a beautiful atmosphere! I spent half an hour chatting it up with the owner who is a lovely human and we exchanged biz cards and I signed up to volunteer for story time. The best is that the book I finally decided on was the one recommended by the owner after she got to know me. It's a safe space and I highly recommend you go there today to get your book fix!“
“I've been here multiple times throughout my life, the bathrooms are always clean and the food is amazing. I got a sirloin, and got catfish to go after our meal. Our servers were amazing, and ontop of everything despite having such a big group of people.The steak was cooked perfectly to my request, and the fried catfish I ate as leftovers was even more amazing, almost like it melts in the mouth. Delicious, will always come here if I'm craving steak.Parking: The whole first row is for handicapped users, which is an amazing design in comparison to other places. Typically you'll see only 2-4 spots in every other space, but the whole row infront of the front door is right there :))“
“I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of the Swiss and mushroom burger that I ordered. It is very much male-centered here so if you don't mind that, come on thru. They have a lot of choices for fries, which is always exciting. We got the pretzel with the beer cheese and I don't know how I feel about the sauce. The pretzel was delicious though. So glad we were able to check this place out.“

We used to snowmobile to it back in the day.It is locationed in the middle of a very nice urban area and off the interstate. It's location is not only very unique, but I think a gold mine or hidden gem as you will not find a establishment like this hardly ever. I encourage viewers to go to their website.Their broasted chicken IS unbeatable and is renowned throughout the city. Just ask.This place is wonderful as they offer "good music live bands" on Friday and Saturday nights at 9pm.Nice large patio area with a playground and 2 volleyball courts.Matt was my server tonight, and as usual/expected...Wonderful!“
