“I didn't have any food. Loved the bar tenders. Jesus Christ. This one girl almost got everything I had. That atmosphere was cool, friendly. I preferred that night. The dj had some kind of miscommunication. Everything felt a little out of order as far as djing goes. The music sound system was phenomenal. The drinks were a little expensive for me. I'm talking $15 to $17 a cup no matter what u got. Didn't like that but for my first experience I got to give it a 9/10. I walked out with my drink by mistake, that to me was a bonus. It was a big ass club too. Not bad for Fargo.“

We used to live in Fargo and this place was one of our favorite burger joints while we were there due to their unique burgers, fresh cut potato chips or fries with dipping sauces and selection of tap beers. When we got back to town, we had to stop for dinner.

Along with the pre-requisite cold tap beers, tonight my wife ordered the Wham Bam Bacon Jam burger (see picture) and I opted for the Classic Chicken (see picture). As per what we've become accustomed to expecting at JL Beers, both of them were delicious. Those fresh cut potato chips and delicious dipping sauces just can't be beat.

After eating tonight, our friends shared with us that they had gotten there early, so had their favorite appetizer - a large pretzel with homemade peanut butter. They had a little of the peanut butter left, so we tried it - and were hooked! We asked and found out that all they used for ingredients were honey roasted peanuts - so you know they were on our doorstop in Des Moines shortly after we returned home - and were ground into peanut butter that night! You definitely want to give it a try!

“Real good dive, the stumplifter is a great cocktail. Like the daily specials and all the little things they have that tie the bow in this place. Mug nite is a good touch too. Good unassuming place with a super friendly staff. My one compliant is everytime I've gone through the offsale is that there's always the strangest people inside or around the area. That being said, it's not at the fault if Chub's, it's a weird part of town after all. Anyway they were playing Casino on TV and I saw Tua get his 3rd or 4th concussion here so I whole-heartedly recommend Chub's!

Parking: Depends on what time you go but sometimes can be tight.

“The soft pretzels were served nicely. They give plenty of cheese questions sauce with it. The cheese curds had a really big amount it was kind of salty but it was still good to enjoy. “Love the food! Great tasting! The wait staff is very pleasant and responsive. But every time I order for pickup or in restaurant, they mess up my order - not a huge deal as tomatoes can be picked out but it happens repeatedly. Atmosphere is ok but loud. We seem to always go when they are playing bingo.“

“The Local 701 Bar did an awesome job for my husbands 50th Birthday party. The staff was amazing and so great to work with prior and the night of the party. The bartenders made sure the pizza bar was full all night. The food was wonderful and the service was great. The side room has a great set up with your own bartenders. “Definition of what one would consider a dive bar. That title is only accurate when describing the low number of patrons and dark corners throughout the interior booths. Service was friendly and prompt. Easy to strike up a casual conversation with the gals working. The ratio of server to patron allows for drinks to flow continually. Employees whom one can see enjoy performing. Some may go as far as to call Specks Bar, a hidden gem.

Parking: Easy to find a spot as Specks bar has a couple hundred yard area on the backside which extends to the rainroad“

“I wanted to take the time to tell you what a great experience we had last night! The service from the bartender and manager on shift last night was top notch! Both were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and beers offered on tap. We sampled a few items from the tap and found some new favorites! The bartender made me a pickle martini after I expressed how much I loved pickles! Food was great, drinks were delicious and the service was excellent! It’s so refreshing to meet people who love what they do! We will be back our next trip to Fargo for sure!“

“I was in for lunch on Saturday. Place looks great. The food was tasty, their fries are really on point, maybe the best in town. Molly the bartender was great. She had a good rapport with her customers and did a good job of checking in with everyone despite being the only person there. It kinda felt like what I would imagine a modern version of Cheers would be, which is not something you would expect from a hotel bar.“

“Cowboy Jacks was such a good addition to the downtown area. It's nice to see how much work they put into their country style atmosphere, with the decorations and tables. I love the happy hour special, which is daily for half off apps and $'s off beer and typically make it in once a week. Staff is always very friendly and goes above & beyond to remember your drinks if they see you enough.“
