“I've been here dozens of times over the last decade or so. It was always 'average' as far as the food went. Then tonight happened. They must have a new manager or head chef. I got sushi/sashimi for two like so many times before. But this time the presentation and garnish made it a whole new meal. It was fabulous.“

We came here for the first time on our 4 year wedding anniversary with our toddler. What a wonderful establishment!

The food and drinks tasted elevated and complex and were at a reasonable price point. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Some highlights include the caulini tempura, the mentaiko maze udon, the scallop temaki, and the black sesame cheesecake from the dessert place next door (which will be opening soon!) My son was SO excited to eat rice (his favorite food) in the shape of a bear and loved his Calpico drink and the red bean fish treat dessert.

Our waiter was nice, but not overbearing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, gave us informed recommendations, and provided good advice on handling the hand rolls. The place has simple, but classy decor, and a nice large patio. Management was very generous in recognizing our anniversary with a couple of surprises. We felt very taken care of and were glowing with appreciation at the end of our meal.

We feel grateful to have found this gem in the neighborhood which we plan on returning to many times in the future.“

“I needed a treat, and did I ever get one in my bag of takeout tonight from Midori’s Floating World Cafe (in their temporary Seward Cafe location). The dumplings, entrees, and dessert were exquisitely prepared, with flavorful sauces and broths. Glad I splurged on the Daifuku: it was a little work of edible art. This food woke all of my senses for spring. I’ll be back.“

I've always seen big groups come here and the waiters and waitresses are always on their feet. Their dinner menu provides more selection so I always get that menu, even for lunch as I love sashimi. The interior color they chose is pretty comfortable. The black and gray style is very nice.“

“The sushi was pretty good and reasonably priced. They were generous with the salmon in the salmon roll and Philly roll, and the fish was really good. However, this is a ghost kitchen in a sketchy area. I don't recommend walking from downtown after dark, and definitely avoid Currie Ave. The locker pickup system didn't work that great and I had to wait around for about 10 minutes even though my order was supposed to be ready when I arrived. And the staff are basically hiding in the back...“
