Citizen Saint Paul Reviews
Came here two days in a row for the MN Yacht Festival. First day sat at the bar, service was prompt and kind. Second day sat at a table and service was unorganized, slow, and rude. We had three different servers before we got our final one. She was kind, however took 25+ mins to get three simple drinks. Space was not busy either day as well.
Cute atmosphere, but impersonal service.
Had lunch here today, our server was great, I didn’t catch her name but she had an Eastern European accent. Unfortunately the manager walked in and started barking orders at the bar staff which kind of disrupted our peaceful lunch, and then proceeded to turn all of the lights off in the restaurant at 1:30pm. Kind of ruined the end of our lunch.
The walleye fish tacos were excellent and so was the service!

Citizen Saint Paul, a restaurant located within a hotel, offers an average dining experience. The ambiance can be described as a "hotel lobby atmosphere," with open tables and other guests working on laptops. The food quality is mixed, with a grilled frisée salad not quite matching the menu description and a dry, overcooked salmon. However, the cauliflower appetizer is praised as delicious, despite the presence of fruit flies. The menu is limited, especially during event nights, which can affect the variety of choices. Service is often lacking; guests have noted delays in greeting and checking in, requiring them to flag down staff for drinks and the bill. Nonetheless, the steak is cooked perfectly, and some guests enjoy sitting near the window. The restaurant's food is generally good but not exceptional, and prices may seem high for the quality received. The staff's efforts are appreciated, but the place can be understaffed, leading to longer wait times. Overall, it provides a decent option, especially for pre-event dining.
