“Absolutely amazing! I tried the original and banana whoopie pies at a meeting, and they blew my mind! I ordered a few for my dad’s birthday, and they were such a hit! So I recently ordered some new flavors to treat the girl at my shop. We tried coconut, Nutella, and our minds were BLOWN BY THE HONEY!!! OMG, I could eat these at every meal! You gotta try every flavor!“
“I loved my Dolche de Leche latte! It was sweet enough without being over powering. I liked the banana bread loaf as well. Street parking was easy to find too! My only complaint is that it gets super busy and has limited seating. I came to sit and visit with a friend and we waited for seating and it was fairly loud. Once it calmed down, it was the perfect environment to visit. I also found the staff very kind and calm despite it being so busy! I would visit again any time!Parking: There is a hill on the side of the coffee shop where it seems the majority of people parked. The neighborhood also has a lot of space to park. Parking on Penn is limited due to a large 30 min parking area, but I found this to be the best parking.“
“The beautiful look of the cupcakes, is somehow surpassed by the wonderful flavors of the cupcakes. The delicious flavorful cakes and cookies, nothing like I have ever tasted. They have brightened up the building formerly known as QC pizza and numerous other food pop in spots, to bring truly wonderful vegan num nums to the Nokomis neighborhood. LOVE IT!!“
“We have gotten birthday cakes for our daughters' birthdays from Queen of Cakes for the last few years, and they never fail to amaze us! Our older daughter often has quite specific requirements, and they invariably manage to accommodate her. She was thrilled with this year's cake: a "purple and gold fairy" theme! And the cake itself is DELICIOUS - we always get a ton of compliments!“
“Such excellent, efficient, and friendly service, Tom and Hollie were truly wonderful and welcoming. Very cozy and clean too! Of course the food was delicious (I will always recommend the french toast). Perfect for large groups and incredibly accomodating as well. What a joy, thank you Perkins!“
“My family is so happy to have a place like this in Bloomington. The food is delicious, the setting is very cute and clean, staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Fast service. We had the lemon ricotta pancakes and cornbread waffles and coffee. Portions are large, had plenty for left overs. Can’t wait to go back.“
“This is a Mexican bakery and butcher shop. The decor is what you would expect in a business like this. The staff is very friendly. English is a second language so be patient. They were very helpful. The baked good options were plentiful and delicious.“
“Edelweiss is a hidden gem. It's one of my favorite breakfast spots south of the Twin Cities, and has some of the best doughnuts in the state of Minnesota. Their Boston cream doughnuts are the best I've ever had anywhere -- so fresh, and with all natural ingredients, nothing artificial. Their coffee is excellent, and their breakfast sandwiches are superb. These come with a little side of their granola, which is also very good and a cool idea for a breakfast side. They do a brisk business in fancy desserts, which are in the left side of their case. Sooooo very worth the calories! Need a pie to bring to a Thanksgiving get-together? Their bourbon pecan pie is wonderful. My only bone to pick is that their apple desserts and doughnuts don't quite excel to the same degree as everything else. They slice their apples thickly, so the fruit isn't always cooked through. The service is very good. Ambiance is bright and sunny due to their windows, and there's a charming fireplace in the back. Stop by sometime! You'll be glad you did.“
“This is the second Valentine’s Day cake my partner has ordered from Hilda, and she blew me out of the water this year! Her work is always gorgeous, and she is so accommodating to our customization requests. This cake was so magical and made me feel like a princess in wonderland! I thoroughly enjoyed all the small details and finishing touches. Did I mention how it’s also the best cake I’ve ever had? I dreamed all year about Hilda’s frosting! If you’re ever planning on getting an order from Hilda, be sure to add on an order of golfeados, you’re tastebuds will thank you later.“
“If you are looking for a baker look no further! Micah did a phenomenal job for my friend’s baby shower. I could afford anything too crazy like the multi flavor or fillings so she worked with my budget and they turned out beautiful! Everyone raves about them at the baby shower. ❤️ Definitely found my baker for all my future parties!“
“My friend recommended this place to me and it did not disappoint! The cookies are amazing! Today the choices were Banana Cream Pie (yum!) Chocolate Chip, Pink Velvet, Pumpkin Spice, something else with white chocolate chips and one that was half and half.. half dark half light.. I can't remember the names of these last 2. I would say that the business owner would benefit a LOT from employees that speak to you as a guest. There were 3 people behind the counter, not one of them spoke to me until I asked for help. Being that it was my first time in I could have benefitted from knowing that the way you order is through the kiosk not a real live person! Who knew! Call me old fashioned but I actually like when employees greet me, say hello how can I help you and thank you for coming in! As good as the cookies are I'd be hesitant to go in again.“
“Dropped my teen off for a nearby brunch and decided to stop by to check it out while in the neighborhood. The morning bun was the flakiest and most tasty I've ever had, and their Chai is incredible. Combine great food with kind and efficient staff, and I'll definitely be wandering over again! Thank you!“
“The ‘coffee cake’ muffins are as good as it gets! Very nice crumb, great flavor. I will be sending these to my out-of-town family members, and bringing to my neighborhood’s monthly ‘coffee at the clubhouse’…they are THAT good! And I got a wonderful note back from the owner, who stated they’re coming out with more flavors soon! Only Woodman’s Carrie’s them in my area. Did I say fabulous? And they freeze well.?“
“Amazing butter croissant and other pastries both sweet and savory. I lived in Hong Kong for four years and this bakery is very authentic to what you would get in HK! I go here when I'm missing Hong Kong. Great egg tart as well. Cute atmosphere.Parking: Free parking lot with many spaces.Kid-friendliness: I have brought my child here many times.“
“I went to meet a friend today at Apple Valley Perkins. The lot was full. I am disabled. Both senior citizen spots were filled. Three of us got there about the same time so we pulled into spots next to the senior citizen spots. One of the cashiers (long gray hair)came out throwing her arms up in the air and motioning for us to leave. I rolled down my window and she hollered, "THOSE AREN'T PARKING SPOTS!! THERE AREN'T ANY LINES!" She motions like she was making lines on the pavement The other two cars LEFT! I stayed ONLY because I was meeting a friend. SERIOUSLY? This is how you treat your customers? My friend showed up and she parked where I was going to park. The hostess was on the phone so she didn't control the parking. A while later, she came around to all the tables asking who owned the white vehicle out in the lot. We frequent Perkins a lot and have parked in those spots before with no problems. A walk from Petco is a little to much. Especially for a disabled person.“
“The cake is airy and pleasant not sweet. Being unfamiliar with Scandinavian torte, I was unsure if it was meant to be dry. However, this torte was too dry for my liking; nevertheless, it would have been perfect with a moister texture. It features a delightful combination of chocolate and banana, complemented by a frosting that isn’t excessively sweet.“
“This place is great. A classic donut shop - opens super early, has all the familiar options (cake, raised, old fashioned, long John's, apple fritters, etc), and serves basic coffee. Seems like mostly a takeaway place but they have a couple of tables. Love going here anytime the kids wake up too early.“
“The Pho is the best I've had so far in the Minneapolis area. I have lived in both Orange County Little Saigon Area and Oakland so I know good pho when I try it. It is located in an Asian grocery store so you can pick up all the standards such as fish sauce and more. The ambiance is like a typical hole in the wall restaurant and the service is great. If you're in the mood for a good bowl of pho you will not be disappointed at Pho Tempo.“
“HUGE authentic tamales. Probably the best tamales I have had in a long time and the very best I have had in the Midwest. I am a native Texan and truck driver, I deliver in Minnesota twice a week and i know something about good Mexican food. Also they are very courteous and the place smells fan freaking tastic. This place is a gem.“
“I have lived in this neighborhood for 40 years and cannot believe that I did not know that this wonderful restaurant has been here for two years already!! I was in the mood for a lox sandwich today and wanted a really good one. I found it! Excellent bagel, a generous portion of lox, tomato, onion and capers! This will be my go-to place for bagels from now on! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Picked up donuts for my colleagues. Everyone ahead of me was taking forever as they were being super picky about their selections. I told the person helping me to just give me a dozen of the best and his favorites. He did just that and everyone was a fan!“
“I got a cookie cake for a present for family member and there was a change in plan last minute, they worked with the change and were extremely helpful and polite with the order. He loved the cookie cake and shared it with several people, his favorite cookie is snickerdoodle. Awesome service and awesome cookie cake. The cake is kinda punny, but then so is the sense of humor who it was for.Great job Baking Betty's“
“A small coffee shop, specializing in specialty coffee and waffles with a rather impressive Vegan waffle menu. The Cajun Chicken waffle was cooked perfectly, however the additional of raw cajun spice on top served to overwhelm the flavors and left an overall salty flavor to the waffle, even with syrup. I will definitely be returning to try some other flavors as clearly waffles are their specialty and I have heard nothing but good things about their sweet waffles.Coffee, even in its simplest form, was well roasted and had a good flavor and aroma. Specialty coffees/mochas/lattes are well made and creative.“
“We just got dessert to go. I had the coconut cake which was much better when warmed a little. My husband had the chocolate silk mini but really wasn't impressed noting it lacked the flavor one would expect of chocolate silk. I've eaten here once and the food was very good and I like their desserts.“
“Large soft sugar cookies that really hit the spot. The softness of the cookie complements the frosting and the overall sweetness is not overpowering. A delicious cookie at a price.Parking: Shared parking lot with other local businesses. Eileen's does have a few spots reserved for their customer's directly in front of there store as well.“
“I have gotten various things from Frosted with Care, and all have been amazing! It is so nice to be able to order things that are safe for my family to eat and not worry about it. She packages items so carefully, I know that she takes great care into keeping things safe for those with allergies! What an asset to the community to have a baker like this!“
“Baguettes are among my favorites Kouign Aman was something comparable to a honey bun with a way to hard candy shell. Living in Normandy I will say “kouign aman is a labor of love. It can be great or not good, no in between!! Being here I was really missing it. I’ve tried many here in MN and one place has totally blown my mind but the hours are so up and down. Please take your time on a masterpiece patisserie such as the kouign aman!!!!“
“Went to the grand opening on Saturday and waited in line with some delightful people. The cream puffs were a perfect texture…not too dry and not too moist. They rank up there with some of the fanciest pastries I have bought while traveling France. The staff was friendly and patient. The only downside is the price. They are a bit pricey but I think that just goes with having a store on MOA property. I will definitely purchase more but not on a frequent basis due to price.“
“Cinnabon is another shop that doesn't change that much for location to location. The factors that make these different are their size and team members. This shop offered a carvel option which brought us in. We're visiting here from Long Island and after some dinner we looked for a place for a tasty ice cream cone. In other words... I want to go to Carvel. These shops always have a good team that greets you with a smile, ready to let you sample any flavor and eager to serve. This shop was no exception Clearly this place is for take out... There is plenty of space in the mall where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. Carvel ice cream definitely varies from shop to shop. I enjoyed the consistency and taste of the ice cream here.If you get an urge for Carvel and you're in the mall, i recommend that you check out this location. KUDOs to the tam at Carvel.“
“Busy patisserie and cafe. This location is on a strip with plenty of parking out front. It's a quick order service style; you get a number and then pick your own table. Weekend mornings are prime time for brunch, the table busing does get behind. So keep in mind you may need to grab a table and wave some help down to clean up. I've stopped by here before to pick up some goodies to take home for dessert, they were quite tasty. So figured to try the cafe side. Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict A classic combo. The Hollandaise is rich but not overly decadent. Salmon is nice, just wish there was more of it since it's my favorite. The hash browns are nice and crisp. Love the presentation for the hash browns. Would get it again. Tart: beautiful buttery crust and a nice light filling. I haven't had a bad item from their patisserie section. Latte: classic and delightful“
“Nice to see you still in business all these decades later! I still remember working for your bakery on Opening Day and a line out the door, as your pastries deserved! Hope all is well with the lovely French chefs and family who started this place. Wishing you the best! Was so happy to see the Feuilletine Praline cake recipe still being made, my favorite treat from this spot.“
“Very clean and a good ambience. I would call it halal Chipotle. The food taste was okay and the sauces were not that hot. Not a lot of seating but outside of Zawadi there's a lobby with a few tables that you can use. Overall a good environment.“
“I’m the pastor at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church in south Minneapolis. We’ve recently begun using the Honey Whole Wheat rounds from this bakery for the sacrament of Holy Communion – this bread is delicious, for one, but also soft enough that it tears easily for distribution and dense enough that it doesn’t dissolve when parishioners dip it in the wine or grape juice. There’s a Goldilocks kind of science to finding the right bread for this situation, so we were delighted to find it here.Until last night – the night before Easter, mind you – when Sue, the volunteer who buys the communion bread, sent me a text. Apparently one of our Honey Whole Wheat rounds had been replaced with a Honey Bunny.A WUT.A Honey Bunny. Did we ask for this? No. Was there anything we could do about it? Also, apparently, no.Cue the sacrament of Holy Communion this morning at Easter worship, when I raised the Honey Bunny with his beady raisin eyes up in blessing during the Words of Institution (“On the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, gave thanks…”). My parishioners were confused. We sing every week about the Lamb of God but here was a baked bread bunny, and they did not know what to make of it. But then came the next part (“…and he broke it and gave it to his disciples…”) where I had to tear the bunny in half like some messed up, fluffy sacrifice, and then all hell broke loose.Grown men screamed. Babies cried. The kids at the little tables in the pray-ground threw down their crayons in disgust and walked out. Sirens wailed in the distance, and while they were probably unrelated, the timing fit.I think we may have unintentionally started a new cult. Worship next Sunday will either be packed or completely empty. The Honey Bunny is no longer available for purchase, according to the website. No one knows why, except maybe the Honey Bunny himself.5 stars. The Honey Whole Wheat bread from this bakery is delicious.“
“I love this location! Being new to the state I have tried out the various grocery stores but I ended up getting the Hy-Vee perks rewards card because I enjoyed coming here so much. The employees are helpful with any questions and they basically have everything you can possibly think of. They just recently added a new section to the store that is specific to baby needs and I loveee this being a new mom! All baby basic items from medicine, to baby food, to cups, utensils, teeters, you name it they got it. The bakery is always stocked with donuts, cakes, and goodies which is hard to resist. It is also right across from the in-store Starbucks which is hard for me to pass up haha. I love the ready to eat options that they have there and the different sections you can order food such as sushi, stir fry, pizza, chicken, and deli. The store is very organized and clean! I could go on and on about Hy-Vee but I strongly recommend this grocery!“
