The Boulders Reviews
We had reservations for 7:15. We were seated at 7:30. Lousy service. Drinks were slow. Had to complain after an hour of no food, not even salads. Food was poorly cooked. Finally got food at 9:00 pm. Overpriced and overrated.
The food is amazing, the dining room acoustics not so much. The server was very pleasant and professional. The restaurant parking lot needs work and more than one handicapped parking spot. The service was very good. The prices are fair.
As we have happily visited The Boulders many times over a period of years, our expectations were high. However this time we had a less than satisfying experience. The grouper my wife and one of our guests ordered were overdone, dry and tasteless. The wine pours were skimpy for the price. Granted, the restaurant was very busy, but then that is normal. Our server was great as well. Overall, though, we have to reconsider The Boulders as our go-to restaurant for a special meal.

The Boulders restaurant provides a pleasant dining experience with excellent service, friendly and attentive servers, and very good food. The atmosphere is fine dining without being pretentious, offering generous portions of high-quality food at reasonable prices. The restaurant has a lively and welcoming environment, with a bar where the bartender is quick and friendly, taking food orders along with drinks, especially when the place is busy. Many guests have enjoyed the same great staff over the years, and the restaurant is highly recommended, with customers returning regularly for favorites like the crab crusted grouper.
Guests have praised the food, including dishes like short ribs, paella, and ahi tuna, and desserts such as cheesecake, carrot cake, and creme brulee, making for memorable visits. The outdoor dining area is also a popular choice, often accommodating guests without reservations with a short wait and friendly staff. The atmosphere is visually pleasing, and the overall experience is very enjoyable.
However, some visitors have expressed disappointment over recent menu changes, such as replacing crab crusted grouper with crab crusted tilapia, which they do not prefer. The acoustics in the large, open dining room can make conversations difficult at times, and parking and wheelchair accessibility could use improvement, with limited handicap spots and a crowded path to and from tables. Despite these issues, The Boulders remains a good choice for those seeking excellent food and friendly service.
