“I had horrible morning sickness and the only thing that sounded stomachache was panda. My husband went 10 min before closing. I know that's not super good to do but I was desperate. They made a fresh batch of chicken. Which I'm sure was annoying. But I'm super thankful. I hope yall see this and know it helped me.“

My Sunday lunch featured shrimp with vegetables — with plenty of shrimp — excellent chicken fried rice, a tasty egg roll and soup — all for $7.99. Perfect for takeout or delivery, though they do have a few dine-in tables as well. Still, not a place for a first date, impressing a new client or delivering a marriage proposal. Think styrofoam and plastic forks. But did I mention $7.99? The woman at the counter seemed to know a little more Spanish than English, but got both our order and bill correct. “I don't live in Independence anymore, but even from the West Coast where Asian cuisine is supposed to be top notch, I still think about Golden Rice almost everyday. I love their chicken, and their green beans are so damn good that I forget how much I hated green beans as a kid. Like... I HATED green beans.

“had them for my first time and am very pleased! i got the sesame chicken, white rice, and crab ragoon. my husband got the hot and sour soup, general tsos chicken, and it came with 2 crab rangoons, eggroll, and fried rice. definitely recommend 10/10“

“Generous portions for sure! I wanted Chinese food, but something light and ordered Chicken with vegetables and steamed rice. I wasn't disappointed with the food, but the service was lacking! They don't have lemons and I had to get up to get my own drink (water) and to retrieve a to go box myself. The food was exactly what I was looking for though! Very surprised at how reasonably priced the menu is as well!“

“7/2/25- it's been since beginning of civid since I last ate here. We popped in, I brought my service dog lucky and my friend who has never had food as good as theirs. Still my favorite Chinese food even after all these years and this place is still run by the same family. You guys are wonderful! Please don't ever go out of business 🙏

“This place is great! It just opened back up. The woman who helped us Alice, was a sweetheart. She was very attentive and was nice to talk too. My husband and I wanted to give this place a try after we heard good things about this place and they didn't disappoint. We got crab rangoons and steamed dumplings, both were hot and delicious.We both got the lunch specials, he got garlic chicken and vegetables with egg drop soup and I got the triple delight, it had chicken, beef and shrimp with plenty of vegetables and I got hot and sour soup. Everything was hot and delicious and the portions were huge, even for it being a lunch special. The yum yum sauce was delicious too and she even brought us a couple fried donuts to try. We don't live in the area but I'll definitely make the trip for this food. It was worth it. We will definitely be back. Thanks again Alice for the wonderful service. 🙂“

I saw that a friend had eaten there and have been looking for good Chinese food in Lee’s Summit. This is good Chinese food.

I dined in and enjoyed the very hot Crab Rangoon and amazing sweet n sour sauce. It was thick! Loved that it wasn’t runny.

I ordered the Mongolian Pork, extra spicy with pork fried rice. Both were super hot and delicious. Very impressive! Loved the sauce and fresh veggies.

The restaurant is clean and well run. I would totally return.“
