Drive through only. I appreciate that. This is probably the best Chinese food I've ever had. The orange chicken is top notch. The chicken is good quality, no gristle pieces that usually come in Chinese food. The rice is so flavorful, it's even a yellowish color like it's cooked in something. My new favorite spot.“

“It's pick up or delivery, so not much for atmosphere. However, it is the best Chinese food in my immediate area. Most places are so so at best, but Mandarin House has been here a long time, and there is reason for it. Fresh, quality ingredients, and experienced staff create very tasty dishes. There is only one place that compares, but they are a sit down restaurant, more expensive, and they are far from my home in Independence. So, for the surrounding area, this is the place to choose!“

It's a small modest shop with washed out signs, and it seems to be family owned. Their lunch special is incredible, you get a side a main, soup, drink and crab rangoons and wontons for like $7. “As far as Asian Buffets go this is pretty near the top for us. My son had a favorite place in another city and this one is closer in miles and I think has now taken the top of the list. My only complaint was the hot and sour soup wasn't as sour as I'm used to. It was still pretty dang good. If that's the only complaint I have then that's exceptional. Honestly the food was hot! It was tasty. We got full. We ate a lot... Isn't that what these are for? I got my Asian food fix as did my son. The service was very good! All the food was hot. Nothing was "just warm". For a buffet that's also pretty exceptional. I'm a seafood junky. I love salt and pepper prawns and to my surprise they had them instead of little salt and pepper shrimps. “Absolutely fire Chinese place - I bet they make a killing in takeout. All of the food options we got were largely portioned, well priced, and quite tasty.

Our server was very nice and checked in often to see if we needed anything. I’m sure one day, they could brush up their interiors, but we all know that we come for the food, not the seating arrangements.

Came here because we were hankering for Chinese on vacation and this fit the bill perfectly. 10/10 recommend.“

It isn't a gourmet restaurant, but most of us just want to eat out now and then, or order in, which is what we did. That shouldn't mean bad food or high prices. They have us covered! I ordered the chicken with almond and was surprised that the chicken was batter-fried and then stir fried with the sauce, vegetables and almonds. I’ve never had it batter-fried and served like this. However, I LOVED it and actually now think that I prefer it this way. It added texture and a nice flavor that worked perfectly with the almond. I also ordered the shrimp fried rice and an egg roll and both were amazing. After some recent bad experiences at other restaurants (due to two reheating food past safe dates), I was hesitant to try somewhere new. I’m so glad I picked China Star! “Green River Chinese Restaurant (Feb. 11, 2023)This is a very late afternoon take-out order. Found some good reviews, and decided to try out the place as it offers Egg Foo Young, which I want to try out from various parts of the country.Restaurant is located in a small strip mall. Nothing fancy. It appears this location used to offer some form of a buffet, but this has been discontinued due to Covid the past few years.As usual, I always order a Combination Egg Foo Young to determine if the ingredients are fresh. Surprisingly, this dish was done very differently from the usual Egg Foo Young I’ve eaten in the other areas. The normal Egg Foo Young involves assorted vegetables with small pieces of meat or chopped meats embedded. This mixture is placed on a large metal ladle, beaten eggs are added to the mixture, and that combination is placed into hot oil and fried to a certain crispness. The end product is eaten over rice with a brown gravy added. Green River does it differently - The Egg Foo Young were smaller patties. No meat was added to the mixture before frying. Larger pieces of meat and shrimp processed for other dishes are stir fried till done, and then placed with the smaller egg patties in its own take-out container, with brown sauce added to the final combination.The taste of the final product was excellent, with textures not normally found with this dish. The stirred fried meats were very fresh, and the good sized shrimp was particularly succulent and sweet. This is something I did not expect nor experienced before. Considering how tasty this was, I’m very confident everything offered by this restaurant will be of similar high quality. Highly recommended.Happy Eating !!!!“

“Wow! We have eaten here many times and been very delighted with the food. Today however was a different story. This is the first time we have ever ordered on a Sunday. Maybe the lower quality was because they were trying to use up food because they are closed tomorrow? We ordered general's chicken chicken lo mein and egg rolls. The egg rolls were obviously reheated in the microwave and so chewy that we could not even invite them. The chicken lo mein was awful. I guess the low main part was okay but the chicken tasted like chicken that had been in someone's refrigerator for three or four days and been reheated. Although the general's chicken the chicken was good, you could not even bite through the onions and the broccoli was hard as a rock. Because we have had good prior experiences I will try to order here again but maybe not on a sunday?“

“Walked in to grab a take-out order for lunch. Had a good experience. I ordered fried shrimp, spring rolls, and crab rangoon. It took 10 minutes, very quick service, which was perfect because I had to get back to work. The spring rolls came with 4, 6 crab rangoon, and 8 pieces of fried shrimp, which by the way, happens to be awesome with sweet and sour sauce!

Everything was fresh, nicely packaged, and the young lady gave me 6 fortune cookies……I didn’t have to ask more; that was dope, I almost always want more than one.

Overall experience 5 stars, whenever I’m in the mood for Chinese cuisine and I’m in the area, I will definitely visit here.“

Came out to around $26 with taxes for what is pictured, ordered the General Tso extra spicy and the Combination Fried Rice. The "extra spicy" option wasn't as spicy as I had hoped, but definitely came spicier than other franchises. Combo rice included a generous amount of proteins for the price. Will certainly order in the future! Dishes have a Beijing flavor profile.“

“They have great food and its mostly a drive thru restaurant. The place is small but the food and service great! If there's a long line it moves fast. I recommend all Chinese food lovers to eat eat there and there prices are reasonably cheap and you get a lot of food that definitely fills you up. I usually or the lo mein plates and it will feed 3-4 people and only cost $11-13 something depending on which One you order.“

I paid for extra shrimp and got extra shrimp! These shrimp are cooked perfectly and they are huge!
