About Green River Chinese Restaurant

Green River Chinese Restaurant is a family-owned establishment that has been serving the Kansas City, Missouri community for many years. Located just past downtown, the restaurant has a cozy, casual atmosphere, though it currently offers only takeout service due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The reviews suggest that the restaurant offers a variety of traditional Chinese dishes, with a Southeast Asian influence from the Vietnamese owners. Customers praise the good prices and generous portions, particularly for the General Tso's Chicken, which is a local favorite.

However, some customers have had mixed experiences with the food. One reviewer found the Combination Fried Rice to be overly saucy, with a lack of shrimp, while the General Tso's Chicken was too spicy, despite the request for it to be mild. Another reviewer, though, was pleasantly surprised by the unique preparation of the Egg Foo Young, which featured fresh, succulent ingredients.

Overall, Green River Chinese Restaurant seems to be a reliable, family-owned establishment that offers a taste of traditional Chinese cuisine with a Southeast Asian twist. While some dishes may miss the mark, the restaurant is generally well-regarded by the local community and is worth a visit, especially for those seeking a cozy, casual dining experience.
