“Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had; I always eat here when I’m in town and crave it when I’m away. Some of my favorites: kun pun chicken, jam bong, pad thai, calamari, rangoon, sushi rolls: crazy monkey, south pacific, thai salmon and gaijin.“
“I don't know where to start. The General Tao's chicken was moist, juicy, fantastic sauce with the perfect amount of heat. The Vietnamese Spring Rolls were tender with the perfect amount of bite without being so fragile they fall apart or so tough you had to gnaw your way through the wrapper. The vegetables were fresh and crisp and full of flavor. And finally the Hot and Sour soup by which I judge all Asian food establishments by. All I can say was it was PERFECT! Plenty of veggies and tofu, meat and the body of the soup was perfectly seasoned and was the thickened exactly how it should be. All I can finish up with is this is the only place I will be ordering Asian food from. If the hot food is this good I can't wait to try the Sushi.“
“After dozens of orders, Sushi Uni has firmly established itself as our go-to sushi spot in Lenexa. Our usual picks include the Ahi Tuna Roll, Snow White Roll, KC Chiefs Roll, Tiger Roll, Heat Wave Roll, and occasionally the Hulk Roll, with the Tiger Roll standing out as our absolute favorite. The sushi rolls are consistently delicious and are the main reason we keep coming back. However, there's one aspect that prevents us from giving Sushi Uni a perfect score: the side dishes (I give the sides a single star, and I was honestly thinking of giving the resteraunt as a whole 3 starts instead of 4 because of the sides). Initially, on our first ten times ordering from sushi uni, we would add Edamame, Gyoza, or egg/spring rolls to complement our sushi, but we've been consistently disappointed by all of these sides. As a result, we've stopped ordering them altogether, it's a waste of money. It will take them overhauling how they prepare all of the side dishes before we consider ever ordering them again. Despite this, I highly recommend Sushi Uni for their exquisite sushi rolls. They're definitely worth a visit on their own. Just skip the sides to ensure your not leaving disappointed.“
“We’re super picky on Chinese food, the only place we’ve ever loved is tryakki out of Lawrence when we were in college. This place has FINALLY ended our search for a south KC metro replacement. They’re clean, the food was very fresh, and it was very good. The honey chicken is actually honey chicken, not the soy sauce ick other places try to pass off. The rangoons are perfect, not too sweet, not salty, perfectly crispy. So glad to have found our Chinese place ❤️“
“Delicious meal- served up fresh and piping hot. Friendly service! My only complaint is- I paid the dinner price- and got lunch portions. I would’ve definitely ordered from the lunch menu, had I known there was one (a worthy mention from the host would have been stellar). That way, I would’ve received a dish of soup that was not offered on the dinner combination.“
“Very tasty food and not too expensive! The atmosphere was nice decor-wise but it was almost empty even though I came on a Friday night. Give them some business, they definitely deserve it and I want to make sure this place sticks around so I can keep coming “
“Heard about this from a friend and we are SO glad we tried a new place! The food was delicious and the servings generous (I got beef and broccoli and am able to get 4 meals out of it for myself!). The service was courteous and the place was very clean. We'll definitely be back again!“
“The BEST THAI FOOD we've ever had! Hands down. Bonus points...the staff are amazing, down to earth and enjoyable to be around, plus the whole atmosphere of the place is lovely. Had a drink while we waited for the food to be made. Lots of orders going out the door. This place is a hot spot for good eats. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pho, Treasure Bags, and more. This place can accommodate vegetarian and gluten free dietary restrictions too. Fill-up foodies, it's worth it. We'll be back. HH“
“My favorite place to get lunch. It's quick, yummy, and it's large enough portions to allow me to have lunch for two days. This is my new favorite chinese restaurant in KC. Everything is always warm, tasty and the crab rangoons are to. die. for. highly recommend to anyone looking for good chinese that is cost efficient and flavorful!“
“I've been ordering here since I moved to Roeland Park about 3 years ogo. Always consistent, fresh and what you'd expect from American style Chinese food. The owners and workers are always friendly too! Also, keep in mind this a small spot and only usually one person delivers, they can get quite busy especially on the weekends and holidays, So order early on the weekends or on holidays and you'll avoid frustration.“
“I did take out on this my first visit. Small, almost "hole-in-the-wall" place. Clean, friendly staff, and on time, YES! But the food, I was amazed! The best Chinese I have had from a take out place! I'm serious, I like Chinese a lot and always try to find family or indepently owned places. Some of the chain stores are okay, but the down home places will pretty much be better every time. This place has excellent food at the typical price for these places. The portions were huge as well. They are out of the way and across town from where I live, but I will be back repeatedly!“
“I wanted to give miyabi in Overland park. The food is fantastic. The sesame shrimp and the general tsos shrimp is definitely top three favorite of my life, the crab rangoon is exceptional but I will tell you it's a little bit sweet compared to any other places crab rangoon and I the funny thing is I don't like any other places crab rangoon but this is my favorite, and their beef stick appetizer is awesome. I did have a bit of a issue big issue that they disagreed with me on and after talking to them they compromised and worked it out and replaced my meal. For that, their customer service went Above and Beyond on top of their ridiculously great flavored food.“
“Dragon Empire has become my husband and my favorite Chinese restaurant. The buffet offers a large variety of hot, fresh and delicious items. We've ordered to-go buffet boxes a couple of times, and if there was a dish not offered on the buffet, the staff offered to make it. Incredible food, excellent service!“
“Really enjoyed the food!Only negative was that I asked for 3 to-go boxes but the waitress said 2 boxes would be enough, which I've never been told at a restaurant before. So we had to mix leftovers from different people sitting at the table. The restaurant saved a few pennies by only giving us two boxes but it was rude.“
“This is a fast casual Chinese restaurant with limited dine in seating. That being said, I absolutely love this place for lunch. For under 10 bucks, you can get such a solid delicious lunch option. There is a little buffet/panda express style option if you go to the restaurant, where the food is fresh and you have tons of popular options to choose from. I never have a bad experience here!“
“Visited Linwood Chinese Express for lunch today and ordered Pepper Beef. I'd hoped to order schezwan beef but they don't make that here. I ordered pepper beef instead. The total came to 13.26, for the entree, fried rice, and 1 crab rangoon. The place is drive-thru only and cash only; I waited approximately 10 min in the drive-thru from order to pick-up. Service was super friendly and the portion was huge-- as a light eater, I can easily get 3 meals out of this. Someone who eats more could get 2 meals. Compared with other local Chinese spots in Kansas City, I'd say you can expect a pretty decent experience here.“
“First time trying and have to say this is a really yummy Chinese restaurant , I've eaten at alot and this is best tasting inexpensive one I've been too so far , and will be back again too yay , so far everything I've ordered is really really good and specially for picky people it's really “
“tried the stir fry ramen and boru bowl. our food was served fast and it was piping hot! unfortunately, the boru bowl was not my favorite as i wasn’t a big fan of the broth and noodle. however, the pork was very tender and good, and the egg was absolutely delicious.“
“This place is great! We ordered the chicken pad Thai, Szechuan chicken, steamed dumplings, and we got combos so they came with egg drop soup, crab rangoon, and a drink! The portions are very large and the food is great! The szechuan chicken was not spicy and was more sweet(probably based on their usual clientele), however it tasted really good. We will definitely order again and just ask for extra spicy. The chicken pad Thai was delicious and the cook is very generous with the chicken. The dumplings were very flavorful and meaty. The crab rangoon were ? fresh and came out HOT (which is awesome). The egg drop soup was honestly the most surprising because it was so good. It was extremely rich and eggy in the best possible way. Honestly, I would have been happy with just the soup and dumplings and call it a happy day; instead, we stuffed ourselves and still left with leftovers. I also like how chill the vibes were inside. It's not fancy, and it's clean and quiet, so it's relaxing. The prices also cannot be beat.“
“Based on my son's recommendation, we decided to try this Fortune Wok. We had a very good experience. Service was great, and portions were large. My only complaint was with the Egg Drop Soup. It was not as rich and flavorful as others I have tried. It had bits of chicken and carrots and was just OK.“
“I'm so glad that you guys reopened. This place makes my heart happy! Sean our server was absolutely amazing! The old team is back from before! And it just makes me happy to be able to revisit one of my favorite places that I thought was lost to time, but it makes it all that much better to see the same inviting faces when you go! Congratulations on your reopening! I'll be back very soon!“
“I’ve been eating here since I was in high school. This place is definitely the best Chinese restaurant in the Kansas City area. The foods are simply awesome, flavorful, and tasty. The owner couples are super nice and very passionate about culinary arts. The wait staff are also very professional and helpful, as their recommendations are always my top picks! If you are new to the restaurant, make sure you try the potstickers, walnut shrimps, salt and pepper pork chops, and seafood hotpot.“
“fantastic food. always great service. nice atmosphere. the price for the food can't be beat, and they will make your food spicier if you ask. patrons always smiling. hands down the best Chinese food.here. the honey walnut shrimp.is out of this world good, as well as thier curry shrimp.“
“This is the type of Chinese restaurant that you don’t see often, in my opinion. It still has the ambiance, the feel, and decor of a Chinese restaurant. You can tell this place has been around for a long time… in a good way!The staff were great. The food was delicious. They have plenty of tasty options. Though we didn’t get a drink, their drink selection looked fun and unique. Definitely a place I would recommend for a group wanting to try new things. Even though the menu isn’t communal style, it definitely could be!“
“Very good buffet in every way. What isn't good? THE WEEKEND PRICES! I suppose it's fair bc they have crab. BUT WHAT IF I DONT WANT CRAB?? Sad. I'll never go here on the weekends again. That being said, every other day is great! Slightly more expensive than other buffets, but Joy Wok has a ton of variety and SUSHI!“
“Had a great time. The food was extremely good. Service was wonderful. We came for the robot. It was really neat. Unfortunately, my 2 year old freaked out thinking the robot was going to hurt her. She is still having nightmares days later. That's probably on me. I though she would like it. So we had to take our food to go. Would come again, maybe when she's older.“
“Just try it folks try their lunch special it's everyday Monday through Sunday which I love I can have a nice inexpensive lunch every day and I love their hot and sour soup full bean sprouts mushrooms tofu it's so delicious and not over if you're over 30 you know there's no good Chinese restaurants out there anymore all of it tastes the same this is just a good place if you just really craving something and you want it so enjoy and their egg rolls and crab rangoon are pretty good have lunch and enjoy“
“There's a recent change to ownership and they have revamped their entire menu. There are separate dishes that are traditional Hong Kong style food which are amazing! There are also the regular type Chinese combo meals that are great too. It requires a well trained chef to cook the Cantonese dishes, which would lead to better food all around. This will be our go to Chinese restaurant.“
“I literally just ordered this today for lunch and we order this weekly, if not every other week but you get the point! Le bf prefers no veggies in any of the dishes, which is why their plain lo mein takes the cake for us. We also order a couple crab Rangoons as well as chicken fried rice. With that being said, they've never made a mistake with accommodating our special requests and the food is always fresh on delivery! Simply the best Chinese spot in town. They're a little spot next to a couple stores and I don't recall there being seating to dine in? Correct me if I'm wrong, I normally do delivery but did pick up once and don't recall seating. But I mean Chinese food in your pjs while watching Netflix re-runs? Sign me up!“
“Vegetarian options: Can get vegetarian options. Any dinner entree will make at least two meals, so the $10 to $20 range is a dinner with two servings.Dietary restrictions: Can make sure you avoid beef and pork, if you want or need to avoid (alpha-gal mammal/red meat allergy).Parking: Also drive through option.“
“The sushi is very fresh and is very delicious. If you like crab rangoon for appetizers, they're very filling and delicious as well. If you like sushi, you will not be disappointed with the Sushi Train. I've gone there for a few dinners since I've lived in Olathe and have never had a bad dinner.“

“I have to echo what I'm reading from most of these reviews. If you're in the Turner/South KC area and you're looking for good, affordable food, you need to stop by Sunny China.I've been eating at Sunny China since it opened and it is probably the only restaurant I can think of that I've never left disappointed. Their food is delicious, well priced and their portions are ridiculously large - so much so that my wife and I typically split their lunch combo plates (the smaller portion sizes) and sometimes still end up with a few bites to put in the refrigerator. There is legitimately nothing I wouldn't recommend off their menu. If you're a crab rangoon fan, I think they might have the best in the city. Super creamy with just a touch of sweetness. I could eat 10 of them for lunch just by themselves. Also, I have to touch on some of the negative comments here, typically relating to the owner's attitude. The staff is very quick, to the point and efficient. They're not conversationalists, but never have I felt they were being rude. At the end of the day though, I'm here for quick, delicious, affordable food - not 'service with a smile'. I cannot recommend this restaurant more.“
“We love this local joint! Is the best Chinese food in south Kansas City! And the family is always welcoming and nice! We normally order to go, but the times we stay for lunch special their restaurant is very clean, quiet and welcoming! My daughter love their lo mein, and we love their Beef broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, triple delight and more! If you need a great lunch or dinner, with great flavor and great price, then head to the rice house!!!“
“Food and service was amazing for what me and my wife got they were also willing to give her a different dish she forgot to tell them she didn't want vegetables with no arguing they were quick to change music was loud hard to hear over it and also the setting was niceParking: Getting a parking space is easy backing out and driving to the street is a little more difficult when parking lot is full“
“So good!! I've been looking for a place that serves lo mein without veggies in it (I don't like cabbage) and this place did not disappoint! The general tso's tofu was delicious, and the crab rangoon is amazing! China Star is definitely my new go to Chinese place!“
“A shoutout to Daniel, who works at Boling's at the Plaza location - You are the best! Daniel has worked there for 20+ years, and his service is top notch. He always goes and above beyond to take good care of his customers. He puts his heart into what he does everyday, and he would remember regular customer's likes and try to personalize their services and take care of small details to make them feel like VIPs. We have seen him interactive with lots of regular customers, and he genuinely enjoys taking good care of his customers and you can tell he takes pride in seeing satisfying customers. Between the excellent foods, top notch services Daniel and others provide there at Boling's on the Plaza, Boling's is one of ours and many others' favorite dining spot in KC! Thanks Daniel!“
“This has always been my go to spot for Chinese food I use to go to New Peking but there food quality has fell off and now I've been going here for over two or three years now and has been good experience I always call in order because waiting in the drive through always takes “
“First time at Bo Lings since I'm from out of town. A quiet, pleasant environment. Nothing fancy, but comfortable. Good variety on menu. Hot and sour soup was pretty standard, but good. The fried calamari was exceptional. Unusual mix of flavors. Chicken lettuce wraps were tasty and the portions generous. Service was excellent: friendly, prompt, attentive. Prices were decent though not cheap. But I got good value for my dollars. I'd certainly eat here again if I'm back in this area.“
“Fabulous food. Very tasty and well prepared. They NEVER EVER get the order wrong ( how many take-out restaurants can you say that about?). Good value for the money. Basically only a take out which is totally fine with us.Parking: Never a problem. In stripMall“
“The service was very good, the guy running the register was very helpful and he does a good job talking. Very smart young boy. Food was great, big portions and quality food for quite a low price. Much less than other Chinese restaurants in the area. My food was delicious and I still had some leftover for dinner. Love this place!“
“The wife and I decided to not cook for Christmas this year. We drove by Taste of China and saw they were open so we decided to give them a try. I just dropped in so no pre order. I got the General's chicken, cashew chicken, and hot & sour soup. It took them about 10 minutes to put the order together and off I went. I could tell they were super busy, full staff in the kitchen all working hard to get food out the door. There was a steady stream of customers coming and going, never more than 2-3 of us in there. Prices everywhere have risen since the pandemic but once we dug in there was plenty of food in each container so pretty good value and we were very pleased with the taste and quality of the food. This is really more of a take out style restaurant as the decor is spartan and small. But we had good food, service and value. We liked it just fine.“
“The place was fast, like really fast. The portion sizes are big enough for two to three people. The folks running the place are super nice as well. Food was good but not very unique, like good but nothing that I would say stood out. None the less, if you are looking for good food that will feed you for two days look no further.“
“We tried several things. From pineapple fried rice, to sushi, to egg rolls, to spring rolls, Mongolian beef/shrimp, and teriyaki chicken. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious! My only complaint was how long we waited to receive service. However, in defense of the restaurant, it was late in the evening (about an hr and a half before closing) and there was only one waitress serving all tables. I absolutely recommend and will go back!“
“Food is good but it has a lot of msg...It makes me swell up so bad it's uncomfortable for many days. It's not very inviting to sit and eat there. That's probably why everyone just gets food to go.People didn't seem happy to see customers come in.Parking: It's located in a strip mall of sortsWheelchair accessibility: I honestly don't remember“
“Went for lunch today to pick up a large order for work. They were surprisingly very fast and friendly. The owner doesn't speak toouch English but the son took all the orders and interacted with me. He was very friendly and tall, over 6 feet!“
“I read the reviews and just knew I had to go here. I never really gave it a second thought because of all the other places had higher star ratings. But let me tell you, this is the best to-go or delivery chinese food you're getting in Overland Park. Maybe even farther out. I happen to LOVE the place across the street (ABC), but they're not the same thing AT ALL. So don't try to compare them. I finally gave in and read the reviews and knew this was the place for me. When I lived on the Missouri side, the best chinese food was at a place with a person that some called mean or abrasive, and most of those customers deserved the attitude they received. In ten years I only saw the "mean" side once. So when I saw similar reviews to my favorite midtown spot, I knew I had to go. I personally didn't experience any mean behavior and definitely wasn't treated bad at all. The food was great, was made fast, and the crab rangoons were soooo good. I had those, fried wontons, and the beef lo mein combo with fried rice. While I wouldn't order the fried wontons again (first time trying them honestly), I will only ever eat here when I'm craving beef lo mein (and excited to try some other dishes) and crab rangoons. There's so many places that have good ratings that are absolutely bland trash. If you want flavor, go to this place. I've spent twelve years living blocks away. Don't even know how long they've been there, but that's how many years I've been missing out.“
“Service is wonderful and they're so nice. Food was ready super fast, and the lady running the cash register seemed really sweet. Then the food- the rangoons are awesome, and the hot and sour soup is delicious! My husband loved the egg drop soup, and we both loved the chicken lo mein. We usually go to a different chinese place for convenience and location, but this will be our new GO TO! A nice big restaurant, it seems like a nice place to dine in, but we did takeout. Do yourself a favor and try it!!!“
“Is this restaurant perfect? No. Maybe not even good. But! It's certainly the best Chinese takeout this side of KC. This restaurant has been there for me through my ups and downs at 10pm. The food is alright but I really can't complain. It's Chinese takeout. The sesame chicken is really good. The people that work here are very nice people and work very hard. I love that they have a drive through. I'm posting a review because I don't know what I would do if anything ever happened to this place.“
“I've been going here for 20+ years (their old location in midtown) and it never disappoints. Chili pepper wontons always a must order item. Ants on a tree and the braised pork and shiitake noodle soup are two of my favorites. China moon is also a great appetizer to start off the meal the plum sauce on the side is so good.“
