The Mexican Barrel House Reviews
We recently tried The Mexican Barrel House, and it absolutely exceeded expectations! I love that they put a creative twist on traditional Mexican dishes — everything felt fresh, unique, and thoughtfully prepared while still keeping those classic flavors we all crave.
The food was delicious from start to finish. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and every dish was beautifully presented. And the margaritas? So good! Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and definitely...read full review
I recommend taking a Tour of Mexico. 4 out of the 4 were perfect. The brisket and pork were so juicy. All the meats were moist. Streetcorn ribs were great too. service was good even though it was a crowded valentines day. This was worth the wait.
Absolutely beautiful inside. Beware it is a “brunch” menu, not lunch. The waiter did offer us chips & guac off the dinner menu though. No free chips/salsa.
I’m sure it would be great for dinner but I am not a breakfast/brunch fan. I did get the taco & enchilada plate with rice OR beans and it was only $9. Enchilada had a BBQ flavor to it. Taco was good. Just slim choices for lunch if you don’t want Tex-mex breakfast food.
I’ll have to try it again for dinner or...read full review

The Mexican Barrel House is a restaurant that offers a mix of traditional and innovative Mexican dishes, with a notable focus on vegan options. One of the highlights is their vegan pulled pork tacos, which received high praise for being both delicious and satisfying, especially for vegan diners often limited in choices when eating out. The menu includes unique items like the vegan al pastor tacos and the quesadilla, along with other dishes such as arroz con carne containing brisket and birria tacos served with au jus and sauces, which many guests enjoyed. Bottled Mexican sodas like Jarrito add to the authentic experience.
The interior of the restaurant impresses visitors with a beautiful design, creating a pleasant atmosphere. However, service experiences vary widely. Some guests encountered rude or inattentive servers, issues with incorrect orders—such as receiving a steak quesadilla instead of Las Changas—and problems with charges, including being overcharged or not being asked if they wanted additional drinks or chips. Several reviews mention that staff sometimes appeared unfriendly or rushed, impacting the overall experience negatively.
Food quality is generally appreciated, with many guests enjoying their meals despite service inconsistencies. Chips and salsa are available, though not free at all times, and some find the prices high for the level of typical Mexican food offered. Overall, The Mexican Barrel House shows high potential with its beautiful interior and appealing menu, especially for vegan options, but inconsistent service and pricing issues have left some visitors disappointed. Improvements in service could make this a more consistently enjoyable dining spot.
