“We hosted my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary celebration at Be Free Family Farm last Saturday, and I couldn’t recommend the venue highly enough. It was perfect. One of the best things about the space is how adaptable it is. I’d been to a high school grad party there before, and I can’t think of anything further from a 50th anniversary than that! Be Free fit both perfectly. We had around 100 people total, with about 60–70 at the peak, and it was a little crowded but in an energetic way if that makes sense. It was mid-July and pretty hot outside, but the indoor space stayed cool the whole time. I’d love to host something there in the fall with the garage doors open. I’m sure that’s the perfect balance. Carl, Jennifer, and Scott were fantastic. They helped with setup, made sure we had everything we needed (including things we didn’t think of until we got there). Carl was quick to offer a ride for guests from the parking lot since we were dealing with mostly older guests. Scott and Jennifer helped welcome people inside and out, literally opening doors and showing people around. The sound system was great. They helped me get it going, and now I obviously want a Sonos setup at home 💀💰💵 Shout out to Apple Music for the ‘1975 pop rock’ playlist that was an easy option for a 50th anniversary. We catered food from Zarda BBQ in Blue Springs. I picked it up myself and ordered for 60, but we ended up with more than enough. Be Free had some catering equipment that we used. Here’s a text I got from my mom, 1/2 of the guests of honor: “Everyone said it was a great party and it truly was. Perfect place, perfect food. “The customer service at this Daylight Donuts is second to none. I submitted an online order the night before my daughter's birthday for letter donuts spelling her name. The owner called me, after hours, to clarify the type of frosting I wanted for the donuts. I didn't realize I needed to submit the order at least 24 hours in advance, but the owner fulfilled the order anyway. The donuts were delicious and my daughter loved them. The Cafe de Olla was a touch sweeter than I normally like with coffee but the depth of flavor of all the spices really helped balance the sweetness. “Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. Great pastries, delicious food and drinks. However our most recent visit we were given peanut butter cake pops. They weren't labeled at all. My daughter with a peanut allergy realized it after 1 bite thank goodness and with some Benadryl she's fine. I called after to confirm flavor and was told flavors rotate and to always ask what they were. They're not obligated to label peanut products but it would be nice if they did since it's a high allergen food :( They didn't even ask if she was ok. If you have allergies I would make sure to always ask and double check here.“

“5/20/2025 Parisi is very clean and modern, with a service counter that wraps around the baristas while they work. Everyone seems happy to be there and they were very friendly. I appreciate that they have ceramic “for here” mugs to use on-site, rather than only having disposables

The staff make this place! They’re lovely and inventive, and their passion shows through in the coffee. Sam made me a specialty latte, and it came out quickly and with a pretty design on top. Because I came when it wasn’t too busy, Koda and Ernesto had time to chat with me while I waited :)“
