One of the best kept secrets in Joplin. (I wish I'd have been coming for years.) Food is fantastic (best street tacos in town in my opinion and man, those paninis are a surprise too! Oh and the beans are amazing and I usually don't even care about the sides lol!) It's fresh, it's full of flavor, and the owner is one of the friendliest guys you can meet! (Staff too!) What else could you ask for!?

Las Brasas Bistro is a hidden gem and a small bistro-style place, about 5 minutes off I 44. The space is clean with a modern Latin feel and a good vibe overall. The food is really good, everything tastes fresh and well made, and the service is on point. The half chicken is seasoned to perfection and comes off the grill with crispy skin and moist inside. The wheels are a pleasant surprise, the tastones are fresh and delicious, and the coco rice and beans are a nice twist. All meals that have tortillas come freshly made from scratch and piping hot. The half roasted chicken is excellent, and the beans and yellow rice are great sides. The green and red sauces are good. The burrito from the Mexican section and the chuletas con tajadas are amazing, with an amazing mix of flavors and pork chops cooked just right. The menu has plenty of Mexican and Central American meals to choose from. The food is home made and the quality is amazing. The staff is friendly, and the owner comes out to check on customers. This place is worth the detour.
