Baba's Pantry is a favorite for many, known for its tasty, satisfying meals like falafel pita, chicken schwarma, and vegan shawarma. The fresh ingredients and generous portions keep customers coming back for more. The welcoming service creates a warm atmosphere, with staff that are friendly and always smiling, making guests feel like part of the family. The space is colorful and decorated in such a way that you no longer feel like you're in KC but in the Middle East. The food is incredible, tasty and authentic. The best thing eaten recently was the baklava, the best baklava ever had. The falafel was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, not dry at all. The lemonade is a must, flavors switch up daily and are perfectly tart and refreshing without being overly sweet. Baba's Pantry is more than just a spot to eat. It's a place filled with culture, community, and pride. This is the kind of small business that makes Kansas City special. The offerings are somewhat simple, but executed at a very high level and priced quite reasonably. The banana bread/cake had big chunks of banana in it and was topped with a rose glaze. The dark chocolate baklava surprised with how good it was. The babannoli, a cannolo made from phyllo dough and dipped in chocolate with pistachios was crunchy with a velvety smooth filling. The prepared foods for sale like hummus, baba ganoush, etc. are tempting. Baba is always the most friendly and welcoming person. It's a small restaurant, so taking it to go is recommended, or coming early or late to snag a table.
