“Was really good! Some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Came in during Sunday happy hour after 4 and was told all cocktails are $2 off, however got charged full price for one of hours. Bartender was too busy to ask about it after we got the itemized receipt. Overall, delicious. Just wish we would have gotten the full special.“
“Absolutely one of the best SOCCER ( futbol) venues in the country as they have hosted the EPL's supporters club of Newcastle United. Great TV's, great food, great drinks, great service and a loyal following. TOON ARMY !!!“

“This is one of my favorite bars in Kansas City to take new people or people that dont go out on the town very often. it's really easy to socialize with strangers and it doesn't take very long to get a drink from the bar even if it is busy.“

“I like to come on Wednesdays for Friendsday and this week I hauled ass to get there before 7:00. To my dismay Caleb was nowhere in sight and it sounds like he may have been 85'ed which is unfortunate because he's literally the only reason I rally on a school night. I love Brickhouse. The food, the staff, good drinks and prices but it looks like I'll go back to being responsible adult and only hang out on the weekends.“

“Update 6 years later. 2025. Still great food/atmosphere/and service. Got the same plate. Ribs are so damn good. Sausage great. Brisket is good, but o prefer thicker slices. Shaved brisket you lose a lot the juicy fat I look for it a brisket. This great for a sandwich but on a plate I prefer thicker slices. But still great flavor. Great smoke ring. Glad Joe's is still going great!!
Not sure why they dont advertise as Joe's BBQ. But either my first experience was a good experience. Ribs, brisket. And sausage. Bbq beans. Everything was great I like their sauces the traditional has that perfect balance of sweet and spice. Their spicy sauce hits ya a couple minutes later. Love that. But once again a perfect balance, nothing to overpowering. I'll be back. The restraunt has a great atmosphere good music. I'll be back next time I am in town.“
“This place is electric! Great Dj and great atmosphere! Love this spot in P&L!“

“We went out to celebrate — nothing fancy, just an excuse to raise a glass and eat something we didn’t cook ourselves.\n\nThe place has that classic KC steakhouse swagger: dark wood, country tunes humming low, and a bar lined with local taps. KC supporting KC — the way it should be.\n\nRachel was behind the bar, the kind of bartender every place wishes they had. Busy but unhurried, she gave us a genuine welcome — talked through the menu, pointed out the butcher counter, and made us feel right at home. A real pro with heart.\n\nDrinks landed fast. Mine leaned too hard on lemon, all tart and no balance. My partner’s was bold — a little heavy-handed but saved by a great hit of walnut bitters.\n\nWe went all in on the starters: wings, meatballs, and Korean riblets.\n\nThe meatballs were the star — juicy, herby, perfectly sauced, and unapologetically hearty. The wings had that crisp skin you dream of, though a little overdone inside; the blue cheese dressing was stellar and clearly made in-house. The riblets were tender and flavorful but more “fusion” than Korean — tasty, just mislabeled.\n\nRachel kept things fun and conversational throughout, the kind of service that makes you want to come back. When the bill came, the sendoff felt a little rushed, but that’s nitpicking — overall, she carried the bar with grace.\n\nWe left full, a little buzzed, and happy. The food wasn’t flawless, but the place has heart — and that’s what matters. KC hospitality through and through: dark wood, cold beer, good people, doing their best to make this city proud.“

“Went to Barbacoa, 5500 Troost, for brunch Sunday morning, what a delightful experience. I ordered Monie’s plate. It was mouthwatering. The serving was so generous, that I took half of it home. The corn tortillas were soft and warm enough to make a taco, the beans were flavorful and not spicy, the carnitas were fall apart tender and very tasty, perfectly fried potatoes, and fluffy scrambled eggs. The salsa was very tasty and not overly spicy. The coffee was even tasty (Costco Kirkland medium roast). Unlike some breakfast restaurants, the background music was so low and mellow (helps with digestion), I could hear my friends talk. We have to go back during the week for dinner. UPDATE - I forgot one very important thing, the service was excellent. Our group was one of two in the restaurant, but shortly afterwards other start to arrive. There was only one friendly waitress, who, despite the growing crowd, was able to get back to us about more coffee and to check on us“
