Today was my first trip to Michael Forbes Bar & Grille in Brookside, MO.It's a nice-looking place with a warm greeting and quick seating. Water was brought to the table immediately, and my drink order taken quickly.My entrée was the seared salmon salad, which was prepared very well, but the salmon portion size was only about the size of a large chicken finger, leaving me exceptionally disappointed at this price-point. Great little place with a long history in KC. I met a friend there for happy hour at 3 o'clock. We wanted to meet somewhere quiet for an informal business meeting, and he chose here. I enjoyed my specially priced margaritas he enjoyed a nice white wine. The food was ok. We only had appetizers. But I need to return for a meal. We decided to try out Michael Forbes for KC Restaurant Week, but actually all ended up ordering off the regular menu because it was not a deal. If you ordered the most expensive items for each course from the options presented on the KCRW menu, you save a measly $4 bucks. If you don't order the Crispy Shrimp as the appetizer, it doesn't matter what else you order, you'll be paying more than if you had ordered all the items separately.
