“Went to Barbacoa, 5500 Troost, for brunch Sunday morning, what a delightful experience. I ordered Monie’s plate. It was mouthwatering. The serving was so generous, that I took half of it home. The corn tortillas were soft and warm enough to make a taco, the beans were flavorful and not spicy, the carnitas were fall apart tender and very tasty, perfectly fried potatoes, and fluffy scrambled eggs. The salsa was very tasty and not overly spicy. The coffee was even tasty (Costco Kirkland medium roast). Unlike some breakfast restaurants, the background music was so low and mellow (helps with digestion), I could hear my friends talk. We have to go back during the week for dinner. UPDATE - I forgot one very important thing, the service was excellent. Our group was one of two in the restaurant, but shortly afterwards other start to arrive. There was only one friendly waitress, who, despite the growing crowd, was able to get back to us about more coffee and to check on us“

“Was really good! Some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Came in during Sunday happy hour after 4 and was told all cocktails are $2 off, however got charged full price for one of hours. Bartender was too busy to ask about it after we got the itemized receipt. Overall, delicious. Just wish we would have gotten the full special.“

“Alllll the cheese. We got a mongers choice of 3 cheeses and it was the perfect appetizer. The plates are meant to split. The beets were amazing, as was the cheese croquets. We started with a wine tasting and moved into a delicious dinner with complementary bubbly. Hannah T, our server, was so attentive to my dietary restrictions and helped us navigate the menu so I could enjoy my meal without any complications. “My husband and I popped by on a Saturday afternoon about 2:00 pm and it was quiet here until about 3:30. The bartender was very sweet and let me create my own craft cocktail using their amazing house blended tomorrow syrup. The books here are super cool and we proved several away just hanging out and drinking our cocktails. We’ve driven by so many times and this time it was a destination. Cool vibes, comfy seating for small groups. I noticed some laptop lap decks under a coffee table- nice amenity. This is yet another reason to love living in KC.“

“Ragazza is my favorite restaurant. We’ve been several times. Tonight we had Liz as a server and Channing helped out as well. Both of them were awesome. The food.. as always was awesome. “The food was incredible but that’s not the reason I’m taking time to leave a review. Our server Janzen ( hope I’m spelling that right) was simply the best server I’ve ever had. He made a point to get to know us on a more personal level and made recommendations for my celiacs disease. He gave us fantastic mocktails based off of our favorite fruits and even made sure we got to try the phenomenal espresso cake that was gluten free before we left. Request Janzen if you go to Capital Grille.“
