“Ok, so it's not the biggest bar and yes it does smell like smoke, that is because it is a smoking bar. Hard to find one of those in St. Chaz county. So if you dont like smoke then this is not for you. The location has 2 pool tables, however the one table closest to the entrance gets moved quite a bit not only because of the DJ/Karaoke but by patrons also who think they are the best pool players in the world. Anyways, beer is cheap and cold, shots are good and the staff dress kinda scantily, so there is that. The food is pretty good and cheap. Garlic parm wings are my fave, but make sure you always get them extra crispy so the wings dont absorb too much and get soggy. They have high tops only, a long bar, touchtunes, golden tee, and a cigg machine in there. This is not the ritz remember, it is a bar.“

“I visited this spot on a whim, hungry after a workout and I'm so glad I did! It popped up on Yelp with great reviews so I stopped in. The service was great and the food came out fast. The smoked Turkey was super flavorful and tender. Definitely try the spicy house bbq sauce on the turkey and the baked beans. Chefs kiss. The greens weren't my cup of tea. They weren't bad, just was missing a little something for my taste. I would definitely go back next time I'm in the area.“

“My boyfriend and I love it here! This may sound silly, but It’s rare you get beers that taste exactly how they are described. I can really taste the different notes of fruit come through! Caboose Kitchen is also a good spot to satisfy your salty / savory fix. We love the fries!We had a good chat with one of the brew masters and one of the bartenders last night. “It looks a little basic from outside. Inside holds bar seating, and a myriad of tables. It is not fancy.But,the food! The food is delicious. Pretty much all of it. We have gone many times, and everyone always loves their chosen dish. The chef is wonderful and the staff is courteous and does a great job. They have daily specials which also prove delish each time. Our favorite is the Sunday chicken dinner. It’s the only restaurant we have been to where the chicken breast is not salted to point of inedible. Fresh mashed potatoes are wonderful. Highly recommend this neighborhood restaurant.“

The atmosphere has a local flare because you don't know who you will see (that might be why it has been here a long time (?) the locals love it). “I would put Donatelli's Italian food up against any in the St. Louis area....even restaurants on "The Hill" ! We have been going for years and have always had fantastic food. Also, a great piano bar with live music (check their website). You can have a gourmet lunch with a drink, salad, entree and fresh hot Italian bread for under $15. Compare that to a fastfood burger meal (yech!) for over $10. Professional, friendly wait staff. Great for special occasions or just an informal lunch/dinner.“

“Tonight was our first visit to Dogwood Social House and overall it was a pretty good experience. I will say I was a little nervous given the low Yelp ratings, but they exceeded our expectations. The place is huge (I believe it was a former Gold's gym) and there were plenty of seating options. I wanted to sit outside since it was nice out but I was afraid we might be overlooked as no one else was out there. There are high top tables, large round tables, cozy couch seating that offers some intimacy- and more. This would definitely be a great place to meet a group of folks. There is a huge screen playing random music videos that were fun to watch, even if some of the songs made us cringe (Guns 'N Roses, Rednex, Billy Ray Cyrus AND Miley Cyrus [separately] Fountains of Wayne, Black Eyed Peas, etc.) The Cardinals game was on another screen and fighting on yet another. There are lots of recreation opportunities- from billiards to giant Jenga, giant Connect Four, axe throwing, shuffleboard, slot machines, claw machines, skee ball, etc. Happy Hour is in effect til 6pm but sangria sounded pretty refreshing, so I ordered the cherry merlot version. It was good, but extremely cherry flavored. It came with a slice of orange, a slice of lime and a slice of lemon. Also, it was a pretty big serving, which was poured over ice and served in a bucket. I definitely felt the much-needed buzz I was seeking. Not bad for $10. I would probably try the strawberry sangria if I had to do it again. And our waiter offered to replace it for me, but it was good enough so I finished it. I ordered the garbage burger- a recommendation from our waiter. It was pretty good- two beef patties with hash browns, egg, bacon, onions, etc. I would have liked for the egg yolk to have been runny- as that gives the burger a delicious sauce. It was a filling dinner. It came with a side of sidewinders, which are large fries in a twisty shape. I dipped them in ranch dressing as that's what the waiter brought. My husband ordered the pulled pork nachos. They are plentiful-and served on a large baking pan. He was able to eat them all, but I'm not sure everyone would. It's a lot! He enjoyed them. Based on this experience, I'll go back again and try some other things.“
