“Visited again on the 7th, did not disappoint. Went for breakfast they were very busy we were told 25 min. However a place opened at the bar so we got in quicker. Ordered Denver omelet with hashbrown. Got a cinnamon roll to go. Good thing we did because we could not have eaten it as there is always plenty of food. Got to the cinnamon roll on the 9th still so soft and so good. Would recommend 12 out of 10...I can not rave about this restaurant enough. My husband and I were looking for a late breakfast we saw an ad for the Rusty Rooster, went to find they were closing at 12:00 yep we arrived at 12:00. They happily sat us at a table knowing they were closing we offered to come another time. " I was a waitress I know how it is to seat a table at closing". The staff and Manager were all very pleasant and helpful with everything! The food.... oh my the food... so much food... and so delicious!! This is a must if you are anywhere near the strip. They do breakfast thru dinner I believe. I will be back on my next visit to the Lake Of The Ozarks.“

“We came in the off-season, and we had a fantastic dinner in the quiet. We very much enjoyed our cocktails, and the food was excellent. The service was perfection, and we would absolutely recommend for special occasions. I'd love to go back when it's warmer and we can really enjoy the lake views with our fabulous meal.“

“Our first impression driving up was that we were about to have a unique and memorable experience at The Tavern. The food did not disappoint and the service at our table was excellent. The only criticism I would give is when we walked in we had a few minutes to wait for our table and we felt like we were outsiders at the bar. We were going to get a drink and sit by the fire but it took awhile for the bartender to stop talking to what appeared to be regulars and wait on us. We did finally get drinks and sat down. The other thing that really struck us was how the decor seemed like an afterthought and the items looked like they were picked up at a yard sale for out dated restaurants. I pictured since it is an old rustic cabin it would be decorated with similar decor. Our table wobbled terribly and was very small and the chairs were stained and uncomfortable at the fireplace with a hodgepodge of mismatched cabinets packed in around them. We will probably return for the excellent food sometime but for the price it was not the atmosphere I would have expected.“

We have had her as a waitress before and she has ALWAYS done an excellent job. when we come in we always hope to be in her section! “stewarts is an institution at the lake. traditional diner with everything you'd expect.breakfast is great and reasonably priced. i like that you can get pork tenderloin with breakfast - yum! so tender!had french toast today; came with 2 large tasty, well prepared slices. bacon was crisp and everyone's eggs came how they wanted them.my only "complaint" is that i wish there were a few more vegetable side options. but hey - SMALL thing!we ate there twice on our visit to the lake, for breakfast each time. service and food were both great. very fast and friendly.in an older location but very neat and clean. a definite DO if you are in the area.“

“Older architectural designs. I think the place is like 50 years old. Lakeviews from some tables. My wife had escargot and scallops and loved it. I like dipping bread in the juices. Can't do the escargot ? I had steak and shrimp and the couple with us had steak as well. We both ordered ours medium. Mine had no pink and theirs was rare. Not sure what the chef is doing behind the scenes there. The steak was still tender but a shame to do that to a filet. I understand they're famous for their prime rib if you're into that. Lots of parking. We stopped at the bar beforehand and had cocktails. The bartender was nice. Good service as well.“

“We have been here numerous times over the years. Everything was great until they were sold out of the dinner I order. However this was not the problem. When I wanted to glance again at the menu the waitress said “ I love ya but I need you to hurry up.” I felt this was rude and poor customer service. I didn’t even have a chance to glance (not study) at the menu before she said that. We had been seated for 25 min. Before she took our food order. In her defense, she did come back and ask again and said she just didn’t have time earlier.Parking: Boat slips and land parkingKid-friendliness: Nice beach and kid friendly, ice cream shack“

““Luck of the draw” when we chose this restaurant from the Google reviews. My burger was cooked perfectly - medium. The homemade onion rings were exceptional. My husband had the meatloaf special and it was a huge serving. Almost a pound, I would guess. Homemade mashed potatoes, nicely seasoned green beans. My 90 y/o husband ate the whole meal, leaving only a bit of green beans. The staff is so friendly and helpful. This was one of the best eating experiences we have had. And, don’t let me forget to mention the homemade strawberry rhubarb fried pie. Oh my goodness! The perfect ending to a most delicious meal!Thank you Gina, Joe, all the wait staff and Gina’s son, who turned the fan speed down so I didn’t freeze. We are coming back!!!“

“The food was great. We all had something different - steaks and nightly special menu items, seafood, pizza and appetizers. Very family friendly. The only “complaint” was that we drove 2.5 hours and made a reservation noting we were celebrating a milestone birthday and that was mentioned while we were there. Maybe they don't do anything for such things. Otherwise we would highly recommend this place and the food.“

“The service was very friendly & welcoming. They said it would be a 35 minute wait, (which was fine because they were visibly quite busy & the view of the lake was beautiful anyway), but we ended up only waiting about 15 minutes for a table. The food was delicious & reasonably priced (especially for the lake area). The wait for the food also seemed like no time at all, with the combination of the scenery & the live music. After dinner, we enjoyed a couple of cocktails at their adults all swim up bar. We didn't have the kids with us, but if we had, it wouldn't have been a problem at all since the kids' pool was just below. I will definitely be back this summer & others to follow. HIGHLY recommend!Kid-friendliness: The kids I saw there seemed to be having a blast.“

“Went for breakfast. It's a lot like a Perkins or Denny's. They do breakfast until 2 or 3pm. Our table ordered French toast, pancakes, hash browns, and sausage gravy and a biscuit. One person got a turkey club sandwich and requested crispy bacon, and they actually did it perfectly (and he ALWAYS complains about the bacon not being crispy enough at other places). Everything we ordered was great, hot, quick, and tasty except for the sausage gravy and biscuit. I think they're using canned gravy and it's pretty gross. Also was the only thing that was served less than hot. But other than that one tiny thing, everything was great. Waitress was super friendly and really attentive. Everyone is friendly here, even if you're out of towners. This is the kind of place where everyone seems to know each other in some way, but they didn't make us feel out of place at all. We will definitely stop here again.“

“Do not go to this place and make it to busy for us to get in. LOL Really the place is great. The staff does a great job and the food is great too. Great road house style with peanuts to start and fun. Only thing we could ask for is draft beer options.“

“ABSOLUTELY THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN I've ever eaten. It is broasted, which means it's fried in a pressure cooker. The skin is crispy but not hard. The meat is uber juicy, and it was brought to us hot out of the cooker. Our server Katy was friendly, efficient, and checked on us often even though she was both the only server and only bartender. My husband & l both had the dark meat, 4 piece basket, I had the broasted potatoes, and he had the regular skinny fries. We both had delicious cole slaw, which tasted homemade, a perfect side for the chicken. My husband had an ice-cold beer, and l had rum & Coke. This would've been 5 stars across the board, but surprisingly, people were smoking in there, so beware.Although it didn't dampen my dinner experience one bit, it might be the deal breaker for others.Next time, I'm trying the pork tenderloin! Great local dive bar. A+++“

“I've only eaten here a couple of times, but this last time, I specifically went on a lunch date with my husband from Barnett. It's a bit of a drive, but it's worth it. Fully loaded menu featuring sooooo many deserts. If you don't know what to choose from, staff and customers both can recommend your new favorite munchies. “

“Out of town looking for a grocery store and Hy-Vee was close. Being from Texas, I'd not heard of Hy-Vee and considered going to the nearby Target. I'm so happy I chose to try Hy-Vee! When we walked in we were greeted and asked if we needed help by a nice employee. We decided to explore the store for needed items for upcoming wedding. This store is immaculate and roomy! Aisles were wide and it was easy to locate what we needed due to good signage. On several occasions store employees asked if I needed help finding something. I did ask where the greeting cards were and expertly directed to their placement. The wine, beer and liquor selection was impressive! Specialty food items were provided in addition to generic brands. The fruit selection was fresh. Prices were very reasonable and many items were on sale. We didn't self check, as there were four checkers--and baggers--available. Smooth and quick checkout by a friendly checker. My only suggestion is to come to Texas! We could use a store like Hy-Vee! Well done! I wish I'd have taken pics of the inside to showcase cleanliness and layout. You'll have to try it for yourself. :)“

“We love going to Encore when at the Lake of the Ozarks. The food, drinks and service are wonderful and the views are outstanding! We also loved our bartender, Kate. She is very knowledgeable about drinks, especially what makes a perfect old-fashioned. Kate is a lifelong resident of the lake and was full of valuable information.Parking: There is a main parking lot in front of the restaurant and pool. There is also additional parking on another level.“

“Note, this is NOT a traditional "restaurant." This is a fast food style restaurant located in a grocery store with a gas station combo. So don't come for the atmosphere, unless you're into that. They do have a small section of seating, but most of the interaction is via kiosk to order your food. That being said, I think it was a good value for money. They had an extensive value menu and many flexible options for food. The staff were friendly and helpful. We took three of our four kids and the environment was not very conducive for younger kids. But the food was substantial for the price. We found the food to be better than many fast food chains. A large grilled cheese with Texas toast was only $2. Mozzarella sticks we're much larger than your average. This is a good grab and go, with ULTIMATE flexibility on any food item. You dream it, they'll do it if they can. Great basic options for kids food though. Overall, great experience though. Made for a great stop.“
“We (8 of us) stayed on-site at Margaritaville for a night. We ended up eating here twice--once for dinner and once for breakfast. The kids were on campus at the indoor water park, so we ordered dinner for takeout. I wish I would have taken a picture of the island grilled chicken that I had. It was delicious. I was honestly expecting one measly little piece of chicken and what I got was two pieces of nice sized chicken. The salsa was incredibly flavorful. We were all surprised at the portion sizes! Then, for breakfast, my husband and I snuck away to get a bite to eat. We ate down in the restaurant. Now, understand, we are here in December. We got seated right away and there weren't too many people in the restaurant at 8 am. There are lots of tables and different levels in the restaurant itself (so lots of stairs). We got a nice sized glass of water. Service was pretty good! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful. We were never once pressured into the buffet, although it was an option for $18.99 a person. We opted for the menu and got our food within 15 minutes. I should have also taken a picture of the menu, but the prices were reasonable ($10-16) for the entrees. Overall, we were pleased!“

“It has been a long time since we have been to Michael's. I am trying to eat the less meat for health reasons, but unfortunately I love a good steak. Although there are a few excellent steak restaurants here at the Lake of the Ozarks, I have come to think that Michaels is probably the best or, maybe tied for best. There is awesome service, and an excellent view of the lake, if you get the right table. Everything was wonderful. We had the lobster stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. My wife had the shrimp, which she let me have one of, and of course they were super. You get six very jumbo shrimp in a very tasty batter. She also had the lobster macaron cheese, which is also pretty amazing. I had the strip steak. Maybe not the most tender cut, but has what I call the "steakiest" flavor. We finished off with a lava cake dessert for two. You wouldn't want to eat this way very often, but when you are ready to indulge a little bit, this place definitely won't disappoint.“

“Service was AMAZING, servers and staff had a nice attitude, and really added to the feeling that you were family there, even if they weren't going for it. “Amazing pool bar. The grouper fingers are to die for as well. Love going to shows, and typically get food beforehand, but unfortunately a lot of the dishes have gone downhill and are nowhere near the quality they used to be. I love the atmosphere and the staff, but the food needs to get back to where it was.“

“We have eaten there 2 x now and both times have been great! This time we had a woman server, she was very attentive and informed me very kindly of a few things. We had great food. One of the guys seating people was very kind and respectful. He had a couple come in that didn't want to sit at the bar for their own reasons and he placed them on the otherwise and informed the next waiter that they were there. I thought that was very respectful and sweet and I told him that, I don't think he understood what I meant, but that was sweet! It is also the 2nd time that while we were there that the local clientele were very talkative and carried a conversation with me out of nowhere. This time, it was regarding the fact that little ones are so entertained with the phone. It was great to talk to the dad and understand that his values were old school cartoons, and reading books were the norm! How awesome!Wheelchair accessibility: Very much and there are no stairs.“

“Nice place, had lunch. I ordered a baked potato it was good. The person I was with order burger and fries. She loved it. Fries were a large portion and she said they we're the best that's had on a long time and she loved the burger too! It was during the week so not real busy.“
