“Definitely a solid place for food, especially given the area. Is it anything exceptional? If it wasn’t in Rolla would it still be 5 stars? No, I don’t think so. The smashburger was quite good (the potato bun, the texture, the sauce) but I wouldn’t compare it to NYC 7th Street Burger. The actual hamburger itself wasn’t anything out-of-this-world. My dinner mates really enjoyed their meals. A few personal preferences: the bread was a little thick on the Pig, Fig, & Apple and the Turkey Pesto could’ve used more sauce. The menu is a tad small but also well curated.“

“Restaurant/bar with Great food. Had the chicken basket - 4 Huge & fresh chicken strips to put any fast food or other 5 star restaurant to shame. Very juicy and very nicely seasoned. Will be going back. It is a restaurant and bar type, when we went there was a live band - which was a Great band, was just a little loud for evening dinner but we were there late. Will go back for both dinner and entertainment but may go earlier if taking the family to dinner first“

“Crazy... we were the only ones dining it at 7pm on a Friday night. Especially for the amazing foot. Cheese bites and fries, a BBQ Chicken, a Ham, and deluxe pizza. YUMMMMM! We finished and did some running around, drove back by and they were packed. I guess we hit the in-between dead time. Best pizza in Rolla!!“

“Four of my friends and I stopped at “A Slice of Pie” for lunch on our way to Kimmswick for the Christmas Cookie Walk. I had eaten there with my daughter, about ten years ago, which is WAY too long. I used to buy their ‘Take and Bake’ Pies at Harter House, but my local store no longer carries them. They’ve always been good. Why did it take me so long to come back? I’m usually traveling with my husband and he prefers BBQ or a burger when we’re traveling. I’m glad I mentioned it Saturday, when we were looking for a place to eat lunch! We all loved it so much that we ate there again the next day, on our way home. Between us, we tried both kinds of Chicken Pot Pie (Traditional and Mushroom), the Chicken Salad on Croissant, the Tomato Soup, and the Bacon Quiche. Each entree was served with two hot rolls. I didn’t have room for the rolls, but those who did said they were good. Dessert? You may have to take it with you, but they’re packaged well. The quiche reheats well in the microwave. Those who tried it said it was the best quiche ever, and ordered it again the second day, so I took a piece home to try. I haven’t tried my Cherry Raspberry yet, but the others said the Coconut Cream (whipped cream) and Custard were wonderful. I did try one of his cinnamon/sugar pie crust cookies. They tasted just like my mama used to make. He said he’s planning to sell those at the Harter House Stores in the Springfield area, so I’ll be looking for them. He’s also bringing a truck to Harter House in Springfield on Eastgate, occasionally, so I’ll be watching their Facebook Page so I can buy a piece of pie without going to Rolla. Good pie crust makes a pie, and luckily, you can find them in the freezer case at Harter House and Price Cutter Stores. Look for “Mickey’s Pie Crust”, ready to put in the oven and bake.“

“The food we ordered are cooked in authentic Chinese way. 回锅肉和酸辣白菜all taste very good. The egg drop soup is also nicely made. The rice they cooked is not too hard nor too soft, just as good as what I expected. The portions are generous. We two can not finish two dishes , have to pack half of the 回锅肉。I will rate it 5 star if the place is newer.“

“Always have a good experience at mandarin. Food is fresh, tasty and the staff is always kind. During slower times they keep the portions small so the quality stays high. I appreciate that!“

“Went with my wife for dinner last night. It was hands down the worst dining experience we've had in decades. We got seated fast and our server was quick to take our drink orders and get them to us and then she took our food orders. We met our daughter and son in law and sat with them. It took a very long time for our food to arrive. Our server disappeared and did not refill drinks or rolls. There weren't many people dining. We could not understand why it was taking so long. When our food arrived it was all kinds of wrong. I ordered the smoked sirloin and baked potato. It was cold. I ordered medium rare and it was definitely more medium well. The steak was dry. 3 of us ordered salads as a side and they were delivered with our meal. We had to ask at least 3 times for A1 only to be told by another server that they were out. I ordered unsweetened tea and was twice given sweet tea. My daughter ordered a medium rare smoked sirloin and it was definitely rare. The women's restroom was closed with water all over the floor. We didn't get more rolls until we were almost finished eating. It was a terrible experience. I eat there at lunchtime with business often and usually get excellent service and food. We are local and have noted that the dinnertime quality has declined over time and last night confirmed it. We were very disappointed. We had a gift card and that's the only positive about the experience is that we did not pay for the terrible food and service.“
