This would be some of the better Mexican food in the upper Kansas/Missouri area. Comfortable, clean little place with a Mexican restaurant feel. We were from CA and Mexican food is pretty abundant there. This place came closest to what we are used to. Chips are light and paired with a not bad salsa. The food and service are just as good as the first restaurant, with delicious food and great family friendly service. The chips are light and paired with a not bad salsa, and adding pico de gallo to the salsa matched perfectly. The guacamole is spot on, chunky, fresh, and seasoned, and the horchata was real with the right amounts. The carne asada was a bit dry but has just enough seasoning to qualify as Mexican, and the carne asada tacos are perfectly seasoned with tortillas that taste fresh. The Molcajete Compadre was great. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, the décor is colorful without being overwhelming, and the music gives an authentic vibe without being too loud to hold a conversation. The service goes above and beyond to make sure you feel taken care of, is friendly without being intrusive, knows the menu, and always checks in at the perfect time.
