Classic deli. Delicious Ruben sandwich and generous portions. Joined a friend who worked there 50 years ago as a teen and, though under new ownership, nothing's changed. Still a great spot!
The parking is a bit tough so I parked one Street North otherwise there's parking meters on all sides of the street. This is a step back in time and pretty much a one-man operation although there's three people working. Plenty of meat on the sandwiches. The bread was very nice and fresh. The owner will chat with you when he has time. There was a constant flow of customers but the waiting was minimal. Outside seating is available when the weather cooperates. First time here and there was one guy working but he was so fast, not to mention we came around 10am and there was a man ahead of us with a huge order. Food was hot and fresh and really filling. Only thing I didn't love was the German potato salad. Tasted like it had Italian dressing on it. Very generous with the meat on both sandwiches and the pastrami was the delicious kind with a little bit of fat. Perfect.
