The restaurant's main appeal is in its daily specials, which are fairly authentic, its cemitas, regional Mexican sandwiches and its weekend barbacoa plate.In general I found this place to have fairly authentic Mexican fare.
Best Mexican food in St Louis. A step above the Cherokee places. Get a horchata or tamarindo in a huge cup. Check the chalkboard for fresh specials. Sketchy corner, minimal ambiance. Very friendly owners.

If you're looking for genuine Mexican cuisine that won't dent your budget, this is the place for you. The wait staff was friendly and provided helpful suggestions for the menu. I went for my favorite, the asada tacos, and they were truly delicious. The salsa was also noteworthy. I intend to return and explore more items on the menu. All in all, it was a fantastic experience.
