“Drove to STL to visit the Laumeier Sculpture Park. Stopped by Mellow Mushroom for some food before the drive home. SO happy we did, we never heard of Mellow Mushroom but it quickly became one of my new favorite Pizza places. Such a cool ambiance! We got the Maui wowie and the funky Q chicken! 10/10 also; amazing crust!“

“We stopped in yesterday for lunch at the recommendation of friends who live in the area. So glad we did—everything was delicious and customer service was top notch. The kids devoured a cheese pizza and my husband and I ordered a half Dr. Dre and half Tito Santana (seasonal). Both were amazing! We also split the peppercorn ranch salad—which, with its homemade dressing was also amazing. We’ll be back when we are in the area again!“

“I have been wanting to get here for several years, and we finally made it, tonight, to Anthonino's Taverna, a short distance from Rob's place. (Fun fact, this place has been spotlighted twice on Guy Fieri's Food Channel Show. I can now see why. 🥰) Well, I wish I had made it here sooner. But, that's behind us, and tonight was a delicious, and delightful night. Our waitress, Bailee, had the excellent insight to know it takes awhile to decide on a drink, and dinner choices. It doesn't matter if you read the menu online or not. Changes are always added. She gave us the grace to settle in for a few minutes. She gave us enough time to settle in so we could make our choices. Rob had a Kona Wave draft, and I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Bailee brought us bread made, and baked on The Hill with great quality olive oil, and herbs for dipping. Rob ordered the lasagna, and I opted for the Tutti de Mare with seafood, garlic, butter, and olive oil. My dinner was delicious, and made with freshly made pasta, and a perfect mix of perfectly cooked wild caught seafood of mussels,shrimp, clams, and squid. Rob's lasagna also featured freshly made pasta sheets, Anthonino's red sauce, sausage, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese. I tasted it, and it's your pick here if you love lasagna. Homemade taste that brought me back to my grandmother's and my mother's tables. 🥰❤️ I also felt welcomed, and comfortable as soon as I walked through the door. The new owners have kept all of the vintage charm but added a brighter, lighter ambiance. The food had all my old favorites, especially the T-Ravs and pizza. “Favazza’s is a well-known and respected Italian spot on “The Hill”, St. Louis’ Italian Neighborhood filled with old delis, charming markets and upscale Italian restaurants. Our extended family is a big fan of Favazza’s, so we go from time to time with them. We went last week with my Aunt & Uncle, and it was great. The dining room(s) are charming, but getting a bit dated, in all honesty. Since it’s on “The Hill”, it’s not necessarily an issue, but in any other neighborhood, I think others would agree with me that it needs some sprucing up. Regardless, the ambiance has a fancy and classy feel to it. The service we had was fine. Everyone is dressed up and respectful, but sometimes the service lacks personality at these places because they’re so worried about being “ritzy”. This is the case we had last week. Regardless, also a fine experience in this category. The food was DELICIOUS last week. We started with the Toasted Ravioli. You can tell it’s the real-deal — the filling is excellent. Our entrees were also phenomenal. I got the Chicken Limone and it was tangy and luscious. Genuinely one of the best Italian dishes I’ve had before. The dinner salads, side pasta and phenomenal garlic bread were an added bonus. Favazza’s may be older and their service may lack personality, but their food is nothing to scoff at. A very solid 4 Stars from me.“

“We have eaten here more times than I can remember. The food is always delicious and the staff extremely friendly.

We haven’t had anything we didn’t love and my suggestion is don’t be afraid to ask if you don’t see something on the menu. They have added to and adjusted multiple dishes for our liking.

One of my favorites is to add Italian sausage to their pastas.“

“I was initially not optimistic about a good experience. I don't live far away, finally walked over. It was dead quite at 8 Saturday night - not a good sign. I was humbled, the pizza and service was excellent. The crust was perfect, sauce, cheese, toppings very well done. "The Roco" I'll be back. Definitely a place worth visiting. “Okay so why does nobody do fast food Italian?

I almost never write fast food reviews but these folks were so friendly and we were so surprised by the value that a review seemed absolutely required, hard plastic benches and all.

Fazoli's was new to me, but they are a chain that seems ubiquitous in the Midwest. They mostly offer Italian style food to go. This is much faster than a traditional Italian experience (and wasn't the food quality we experienced on the hill) but it was definitely good food for an exceptional price. We both ordered spaghetti one with meatballs one with meat sauce, our order came with breadsticks also and the total food cost was less than we paid for our coffee earlier in the morning.

The folks at this specific store overheard the discussion about not having been there before and were exceptionally friendly and engaging.

If you are a local you probably know all about these and likely have strong opinions one way or the other, if you haven't seen this before though you have to give it a try.“

“I’ve never had this style of pizza before, it made me think of the “one bite everybody knows the rules” guy. Im from Chicago so I normally have mine nice and thick with lots of everything basically but this was a cool vibe and the pizza was a 9/10 for me. The atmosphere was awesome and they even gave my puppy something like how Starbucks gives pup cups but it was a cannoli for Dogs and he loved it too! It was a great experience :)“

“I was host to approximately 30 to 35 professional people for an evening. The food was unbelievably delicious; and Taylor attended to us flawlessly. She never missed a beat and got it all right. The atmosphere was great in spite of it being a memorial service. There was a second table almost as large as ours, and there was plenty of room to spare. I had shopped around a few places; none of them seemed compatible for my needs. Mitch was the mgr., and he was great as well. He had asked several times how everything was. I had visited the place once more by myself before my return trip home. Great place, great atmosphere, great food, and great service. If you get the chance, go!!“

“I went here out of nostalgia but did not expect for it to go as hard as it does. The pizza was, and I mean this, incredible. Every slice was hot/warm/fresh. The mini salad bar was great. The staff all seemed nice. It's mostly self serve, just like it used to be. It was super cheap for two people. I was very impressed...honestly shocked....at how good it was.“
